Pho And Grill

A community leader recommended Pho & Grill to me and I had to stop over for a bowl of yummy pho (steak, brisket, meatball + tripe); I added the tripe. Those in the lower 48 states will object to the steak not sliced thinly as it's cube-like cut here, but it's so tender. The soup is flavorful. The gentlemen who work there are professional, quick, and attentive. Late in the evening ~7pm, they have many takeout customers as I was the only one eating on-site. The place is attached to a bowling center so you can order at 2 points of sale: in the bowling center or in the restaurant. Next time I return I'm going to order their crispy chicken wings as a lot of bowlers said it's their favorite. So yes, I highly recommend this flavorful pho place.

This place does double duty as an Asian spot and American grill for the bowling aisle next door. There is a connection via the kitchen to serve both outlets. I had the Kung Pao Chicken which was delicious. The flavors and simple style reminded me of the outdoor Dai Pai Dong restaurants in Hong Kong. However, I had to wait for a very long time for service as there was no one attending the restaurant side. I also waited a long time for my check.

Some of the best food I've had in Anchorage in awhile. Very flavorful, fast service, good prices, full portions, and great presentation. We had sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. Mongolian beef tasted barbequed and full of spices and sauce. Went great with the rice. Sesame chicken was the best in town. Crunchy and just the right amount of sweetness. Best Pho I've had in USA. Now, I've only had Pho in New York, San Francisco and now Anchorage, Alaska. Though I did live in Ho Chi Minh City for two years. The broth is perfectly done, made from scratch from cow bones, as it should be. I had the Pho Nam, brisket, which was cut a little too thick for my taste. My Vietnamese wife had pho duoi bo, oxtail. Absolutely wonderful: tender, tasty and delicious. We'll be back every time we're in Anchorage. Update. We had to come back the food is so good. Wonderful, friendly staff, a Vietnamese family from HCMC. Also, the brisket was cut thinnner today. We also had the pork rolls. Excellent, too.

Missed the food here, hubby surprised me last night with my favorite crab ragoons- was with my mom, daughter & hubby today so we stopped in. This is seriously the best food!!! I challenge everyone to come eat here at least once and seriously not leave wanting more. The owner/cook is such a great man. It's been 3 years since we bowled in the buildings lanes but when my husband stopped by yesterday he remembered us that is true customer service to remember not only who we are but my regular favorite.
