Mellow Mushroom

New Review March 23, 2019: Went to Mellow Mushroom today for a 10 piece order of bbq wings (all flats) with extra ranch. I used to love the wings from here, but they have not been good the last few times I have been here. Today, after I warmed my wings up in the microwave most of them were too hard to even eat. Very disappointed in the wings now-a-days. When I called in my order, the lady asked me if I wanted them double-cooked and I said no. These make me think they were cooked twice. :-( Updated Review: After talking with the manager Keith, he was very friendly and apologized for the inconvenience. I originally rated it 3 stars but have changed to 5 stars. Thank you for making it right because some restaurants could care less if you had a bad experience or not! :-) Original Review: Went today and one of the things I wanted to order were wings. THEY WERE OUT OF WINGS AT LUNCH TIME. What in the world!?!? Usually the food is pretty good here though. They have gotten my previous wing orders wrong from time to time (I always order BBQ wings all flats).

The service was only eclipsed by the excellent food. We usually don't do appetizers, but half off several so we tried the bruschetta and the spinach/artichoke dip which were both sizable and beyond delicious ( even nicely plated .. we ate it before we could take a picture of it). The pepper steak was very good and meaty, but my cheese calzone was huge on flavor n size. A lot of leftovers for 2. Well staffed by knowledgeable and very helpful waiters. Not a very quiet place, but we liked it better than the large Greenville one with it's own flair and neat Robot "sculpture ". Small but interesting Kids menu available.

My husband and I decided to check out Mellow Mushroom in downtown Anderson for a late dinner after enjoying beers at the brewery around the corner. Although it took us a few minutes at the hostess station to get seated, overall we both really enjoyed both our meal and the location. We split the Kosmic Karma pizza (added meatballs) and a Greek salad. The pizza was particularly good - Mellow Mushroom really does have the best crust. Waitress was attentive but not overbearing. Although there were several parties with lots of children the evening we stopped by, noise level inside was manageable. I prefer this location to the one in Clemson.

I went there tonight to try Mellow Mushroom for the first time as it was highly recommended. We were greeted and escorted to a table where we sat for 20 minutes and not one member of the wait staff came by to check on us or take our order. Not one. Probably a half dozen staff members walked past us with no interaction. Even the lady that sat us down looked over at us several times and didn’t bother to check on us or have a member of the staff do so. I was highly looking forward to eating there and was ready to wait for the pizza as I have been told it is a rather long wait for your food. However it is terribly unprofessional to have to wait for over 20 minutes before even being attended to by a member of wait staff. We walked out after 25 minutes. Very disappointed.

Had a going away party there last night and it went great! Staff was very helpful in making sure we had enough food for 40 people. The upstairs is great and it kept the group going. Will definitely host the next gathering there as well. Super friend staff and a pleasure working with. Food was out on time, hot, and delicious! Thanks again for a great night!!
