Grace Place

I am not good at picture taking so the picture doesn't do it justice. The food here is so good that I don't have words to describe it. The people are fantastic, patient and helpful. I would definitely recommend stopping by and having a chat and some great food. They close at 3pm so go early and enjoy!

I have been to Grace Place a handful of times and each have had a similar experience. Good, healthy food options, which are hard to come by in Anderson, and a staff that is noticeably nicer to people over the age of 50. I would not consider Grace Place to be child friendly as they do not have a kids menu, high chairs, or booster seats and are also clearly uncomfortable when a child is present in the restaurant. I have had one waitress who was the opposite, and was very sweet to my son, but every other experience has been heavy and rushed. This last one was very rude and disappointing to me and my father on our lunch date. We arrived before lunch rush, a bit before eleven, and had a table for three. Our server very clearly took better care regarding orders, refills, and check-ins on the table behind us. Our food was good, per usual, but towards the end I overheard a conversation between a table that was expecting to be a party of seven and the waitress who had taken that table. The waitress told the two ladies (it was only going to be a party of three) that they could have our table when we were done, instead of the table for seven that they’d already been seated at. Having worked in a restaurant, this makes sense and didn’t bother me at all. What did bother me was that while my son was obviously still eating, and I had half of a muffin on my plate, the waitress came over and told us that the ladies (now standing) were getting our table when we were finished, so she was going to start clearing it. She assured us that we weren’t being rushed, but it felt the opposite. After clearing everything but my sons plate she went and stood next to the ladies, looking over at us every few seconds and kept saying to them that it shouldn’t be much longer. After about five minutes, she finally sat them in another section that has smaller, less comfortable tables. My dad and I were in awe that this waitress was so I considerate of us as customers who had already paid for our food. As mentioned before, it is one of the only local options for healthy food, so it’s likely that I’ll go back, but unlikely that I will dine in again. It makes me very sad as a small business owner myself, to be treated this way by another local business.

Today was my first time there. The food is all so fresh and similar prices as Panera break. You can get a half sandwich and soup and it's all VERY good. Plus it comes with a little muffin or whatever you want and you get filled up! They had me at the good coffee though. I tried their pb fudge, get it if they have it..... It's to die for.
