Snooze, An A.m. Eatery

I come here a few times a year and it is always worth the drive from Round Rock. It feels like walking into a modern 1950’s diner and I’m totally here for it. I usually get the corned beef and hash with an egg on it and good old fashioned cup of coffee. This particular trip in, I had a grapefruit mimosa and it was fantastic. The food is fresh and I have yet to be disappointed. And while there is nothing magical about the coffee, it’s also perfectly made. It’s a good old fashioned cup of coffee, nothing pretentious. Our server, Nick, to write my friend was, “an absolute mensch.” He was attentive and good humored. I will be back.

My lovely boyfriend wanted waffles and said let’s go here. I love to always try new places seen it had some good reviews and a long wait when we arrived so I’m like ok must be 10/10. Yes!! It was all delicious.. food came out fast but the one thing is they don’t serve waffles which was funny! Not sure where he saw that but either way service was great, great ambiance with good music, and everything we ordered was so good, and would first recommend adding yourself to the wait list because they do not have reservations and on Sundays give about 1hr wait it’s well worth it!! I will definitely be back with my family.

When I came back to town, several friends and family members told me to try snooze. Money has been tight, but I had an out of town friend I was meeting with and I wanted to show him what Austin had to offer. We were not disappointed. You could tell the food was cooked with fresh ingredients, love, and care. We had the French toast and pork belly Benedict. He has never had a Benedict and the first words out of his mouth was "oh my god". There is so much to try on the menu, I will definitely go back.

Big fan of snooze for several years now! My go to is always to split the Spuds Deluxe and a pancake flight with whoever I’m with because their hash browns and pancakes are delicious and portions are plenty. I’ve gotten different things over the years too and can’t seem to go wrong here! Bonus: I am a big fan of their coffee mugs, I wish they sold them!

This was my third visit to Snooze. All the “hype” aside, Snooze is a perfectly fine establishment with good food and good service. Today I came in solo and sat myself at the bar. My server was Mercedes who was extremely friendly, kind, and attentive. I ordered a new dish called Monte Christo French Toast or something to that effect. I kind of expected an over the top high calorie monstrosity, but was delighted to find a well portioned meal that included a healthy spinach salad. The food was delicious and the ticket time was well within reason (15-20 min). I have zero criticisms. Great job all around.

It would be great they add to the menu more vegan and gluten free options!, but at least you can substitute ingredients in some plates!!!, although it could be confusing for some servers… But really good in general!!! So sad they closed at 2:30 pm (on weekends 4 pm)!!!; I wish I could go for late dinner too!!! Also be aware that the wait on weekends it’s like 30 minutes (ish)

It’s a long wait. But the food makes it worth the wait! The atmosphere is really cool with a classic look to it. The music being played is random genres but goes with the mood to keep you awake! I came with my family so we were able to try multiple dishes. We all thought the food was amazing! Taste and presentation is on point! Service speed wise could have been better. Our waitress was very nice. What we ate can be found in the pictures. No matter what you order, it won’t be a miss. I would highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast.

Finally made it out to the South Lamar Snooze this weekend (Saturday). The eatery is like walking into the 60s. The decor is a blast from the past! Super groovy! We arrived early, the hostess was friendly and immediately sat us in a booth (as I requested). Moments later our spunky smiling server quickly started our drink order! A morning Marg was on my mind (spicy). So delicious! We scanned the menu, and made some great choices. The food was amazing, and a very generous serve. We had to ask for to go containers. The placed quickly filled up, so a tip would be arrive before 9am (weekends). Loved this weekend breakfast experience!

If you’ve been here, you know how good it is. They’re very consistent with their service and the quality of food. Wait times can vary depending on the day, so get there early if you want to enjoy a delicious smorgasbord of food. I recommend the Spuds Deluxe and a Pancake flight to truly get the Snooze Experience! Enjoy!
