Top 5 in the tri-state area. Drove in from Queens NY, you would think I would find a good enough Ecuadorian restaurant at most a bus ride away. But nope. To the point where my family avoids Ecuadorian restaurants nearby. Finding this place made the bridges and tunnels, along with the tolls worth the trip. Service was good. Sure it could have been better but it was welcoming. Food was like if someone took their grandma's recipe and applied chef techniques. But not in the too fancy for its own good. In the way you can bring your grandma and she'll be impressed and still enjoy the food. The menu is interesting. I spent some time in Guayaquil, and looking at their offerings was kinda the all stars of things you'll find on street carts, family gatherings, and classics. Honestly if it wasn't for the distance I would go regularly instead of just showing off for visiting family members.

This was the first time my boyfriend and I visited with my family and it was fantastic! We got the bandera, the cazuela de pescado, caldo de gallina, and the yapingachos dish. They were all well cooked and seasoned with huge portions. We took about three meals worth of food home! Service was good, bathrooms were clean, and the space was intimate. Great first visit!

I came to try this restaurant because of the good reviews. But my experience was not he best! The service is awful, the food I ordered was not that tasty and the music is super loud. My first waitress never came back to ask me if I needed something else, but she was rushing me to order as soon as I sat down and she had a bad attitude, then she sent another waitress to help us Instead but at least the second waitress was better. In overall, this place is Lacking Professionalism and service, i wish they improve and make feel customers welcome. I ordered a ceviche and I was afraid to ask for more lemon since the waitresses had bad attitude. Also, they chewed gum and pop up bubbles while they are taking care of the customers! One good note, the bartender is very good and professional, I ordered a pina colada and he brought it to my table since the waitress was not available,,and i have to say that the Pina colada was a delicious. But I will not come back to this restaurant again.
