Amaravati Indian

Amaravati came up on our Facebook, and we thought it would be a nice restaurant to try. It is an Indian restaurant, my wife and I are still debating if the cuisine is North Indian or South Indian. The ambiance was great, we were the only ones in the restaurant. The staff was nice. The food was okay, I had mutton biryani, my son had cheese naan, and my wife had roasted fish..we shared chicken 65. Out of everything the appetizer was the best, usually 65 is dry they did there's in a sauce.

When this place first opened my wife and I were extremely excited. If anyone knows Baytown cuisine options, it lacks diversity! My wife loves Indian food so we immediately went. I have to say our first experience was not so great, and this was about a good almost two years ago. Maybe it was a learning curve. Well, we recently decided to give it another try and were very happy! We only order for pick up, so we can’t rate the dining experience, but most times food lacks its full potential when ordered out, but this wasn’t the case when we ordered here. The Chicken 65 is delish and my wife loves their vegetarian dishes like the Mutter Panner and the other Paneer curries. What I like about this place too is when you ask them to make it spicy, they actually make it spicy! Their rice has always been fresh too, which is a must. Keep it up Amaravati, we want you here to stay!

This is one of the worst experiences I had with Indian food.. the staff were rude and very head heavy when you ask for suggestions or for feedback. Cleanliness is the least you can expect at this place. I will definitely don’t recommend this place. And if it’s worth mentioning it’s too expensive for its quality. And management is not ready to accept the feedback.

I didn't expect to like Amaravati as much as I did. Finding great Indian Cuisine in Baytown was unexpected, but I'm glad I did. I've never had a bad meal at Amaravati and the service is always great. My go to is Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan. It has a savory and complex flavor that I haven't found anywhere else. Their spicy wings are also a meal by themselves, and they pack a punch. You will find a lot of speciality restaurants will phone it in because they fill a niche, but Amaravati has never disappointed me.

They sent the soup later than the main course... Food quality was good but service was very poor. My Second Visit 08/03/2019 The order schezwan fried rice 3/5 karaikudi goat 4/5 chicken chilli dosa 2/5 *The sambar was worst with it* egg biryani 4/5 - The food had too much ground black pepper in it. Every dish had too much black pepper on it. THE FOOD CONTAINS COLOR🤦🏻‍♂️ I wanted to have food and ended up woth colored hands, don’t know what it’s going to do to my body!

Used YELP to order through. First I called the restaurant to confirm my order and the person said it was still buffering from grub hub which okay that’s not the restaurant fault. The app said my food would be ready at a certain time and it was wrong time. When I picked up my order it had not rice or naan. I walked back in to tell the person and I showed them where online is says naan and rice. The person said it’s not his error it’s grubhub and he did everything right because it wasn’t specified on the order. I showed him that the menu came with it so I should not to have to specify it. He said that’s fine I’ll give you either rice or naan for free. I told him he needs to call grubhub to fix the mistake then because it’s not correct from his menu. He said it was not his fault and would only give rice or naan. As a first experience at this restaurant, I’m not happy with customer service and rather drive to Houston instead.
