Bullman's Pizza Of Billings

I usually LOVE their pizza and last night's was very good. Ordering over the phone for take-out is really easy, especially if you've ordered from them before. But I am with the few others about the lax mask rules. Also, every table was full when I walked in and I had to wait at the bar near the dining area to pick up my order. Only about half the staff were wearing masks and it was definitely filled at more than half capacity. A group of 8 walked in just before me w/o masks and were seated immediately. I had on a good, thick mask but I felt extremely uncomfortable. If I hadn't just gotten off a 9-hr retail shift and been starving I would have left without my pizza at all and taken my business elsewhere. I absolutely will not be coming here again until long after the pandemic is over.

Walked into dining area as part of our party had already arrived and had been seated. A dozen steps from the table, a rather large, unkempt man rudely barked at us from behind the counter that masks were required. As it would have taken longer to stop mid-dining room, dig out a mask and put it on than it would just taking the last few steps to the table, we chose the latter. In doing so we are sure that we avoided unnecessarily prolonged exposure to all those maskless diners (who I suppose are scientifically proven to be safe from covid while eating) with our quick thinking. As the waitress approached, she also said masks had to be worn. We told her we had already been verbally chastised over the masks and she snarked that we were not being chastised and they are just "following rules." So that was the opener. On to the main course: We ordered cheese sticks and two large pizzas, one being Hawaiian with regular bacon and red bell pepper added. The cheese sticks were sub-par, they really have slipped quite a bit over the past months, but the Hawaiian was missing the primary ingredient that makes it Hawaiian... the pineapple. As the waitress realized the mistake she took up the pineapple-free Hawaiian pizza and disappeared with it only to reappear with the SAME pizza, this time with room-temp pineapple bits sprinkled on top. There we sat looking at these bits precariously perched, knowing full well that they would topple back into our plates as we ate them because they were SUPPOSED to be baked into the topping. As we marveled at the sheer idiocy of thinking this was an acceptable solution, we opted to just eat what was by then luke warm pizza and proceeded to wrangle the fallen pieces of pineapple back onto the slices with each bite. Even without the pointless mask "rule," rudeness, and snark, the food was wanting as it has been the last few times we have been in. This establishment has obviously undergone some changes and both the food and service have suffered for it. We always expect to tip 20%, and did not penalize the waitress for the food but her snideness essentially dropped it to 13%. Note that people don't like being barked at; mask wearing is not necessarily a problem, but rudeness (and snark) will be met with opposition more often than not.

7/26/2020. Most employees at Billings store are not wearing masks properly. The people preparing your food, the man at the cash register, the man handing you your take-out order, were all wearing their masks below their nose or below their mouth. One young woman (server?) and one young man in kitchen did wear masks properly. Amazed that while CV-19 cases are surging in record numbers, the people preparing your food are breathing and talking above it. Great pizza, but not worth risking my health or life. I won't be back until pandemic is over.

Entered and stood at the Please Wait to be Seated sign. The woman wanted me to put a mask on, i had no mask. I said none of the patrons seated were wearing masks. She did not care, put on a mask to be seated. I asked her if she was refusing to serve me, she said yes. I won't be back, ever, and will no longer recommend this place. Ever consider a location in New York? California? Beijing?

Update: 1/2/21 Every time I've gotten pizza from Bullman's, it has been very good, as good or better than anywhere in Billings. I ordered for take out a few months ago & was less than satisfied. I figured they were having an off night & chalked it up to that. I ordered take out tonight, a Bridger & cheese stix. Buyer beware - check your pizza before leaving. Upon arriving at hime, about 5 miles away, I discovered our pie was burnt black, the stix, only slightly less so. I immediately called, was transferred to the manager, who seemed not to care in the least. Withpout offering any compensation, he asked if he could help me with anything else. I said you haven't helped me at all! Nothing. I have brought large groups from out of town to eat there on several occasions (pre-pandemic) Never again. One thing Billings is not short on is Pizza joints. Bullman's will not be getting our business in the future.
