Backwoods Bayou

Wonderful place. First I must talk about the people. When you hear the saying "Southern Hospitality" it should come with a picture of these people. The environment is pleasant and comfortable. I'm from SE Texas and I felt like I was surrounded by family. Just Awesome. Now the food. From what I had I can tell you the bayou chowder (seasonal) is delicious. The gator bites and baked potato and sweet potatoe fries are good. The ribeye was delicious. Now they have a pecan pie, cake dessert that is amazing. Hey seriously if you get anywhere near hear around dinner time Thurs - Saturday you have to come try it out. These people are the best. Thank Y'all! Don't EVER change! God Bless

Very good. Found it through a Google search. I had grilled shrimp. My husband had stuffed flounder. We both really enjoyed our meals. There were several other things on the menu that we'd love to try. Great food, large portions, good prices, and excellent customer service. So glad to find this place. Highly recommend

We found Backwoods Bayou while searching for gas and food heading north from Louisiana after hurricane IDA. The food was great, best steak I've had in a long time. In this case also the first real meal we'd had in a few days. The staff and even the owner Mr. David stopped by our table to ask us how we were in the most sincere and genuine way, the kindness in the peoplea hearts is amazing. Thank you for being a true blessing in the midst of so much hurt and chaos. You will be seeing us much more in the future.

My husband decided to pick this place tonight for a "date" and I am so glad he did! The atmosphere was warm and the staff was very friendly! The food was fantastic! The serving were so big that we have another meal for the both of us! Their food was the best Cajun food since I don’t know when! Truly a diamond in the rough!

The service was wonderful, and the food held up within a taste test. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich “fried”, and it lived up to the name. The manager checked up with us, along with the waiters on refills and such. As such, this store represents what a good eatery should be. I would recommend this service to a friend.

One of the best out to eat experiences my wife and I have ever had, and we eat out a lot!! Our server was a young man currently in high school working and he was above and beyond what I would expect a teenager to be. The manager stopped by and spoke several times. The food was great quality and service was top notched. The price was very reasonable. Looking forward to my next trip.
