Bow River Vietnamese Restaurant

Hospital Emergency Room was the result of our visit Friday June 3, 2022. I asked, and was told several times, that there was no sesame or peanut in my order. Shrimp salad rolls with fish sauce. I ate 1 salad roll. 45 minutes later I was at the Rockyview General Hospital with a team of 4 medical professionals keeping my airway open. My husband returned to the restaurant with a picture of myself in recovery. The proprietor denied there was any allergens and instead said I must have eaten off of my husband's plate. He then proceeded to tell my husband there was another guest who also almost died as a result of eating there. Then he told my husband it wasn't his problem. DO NOT EAT HERE. Many Vietnamese restaurants cater to people like myself with allergies........all of them so far, except here. I will be filing a formal complaint with Alberta Health Services. If you are a restaurant and cannot accommodate people like myself, that's no problem. We understand and happily appreciate your candor and will go elsewhere. But know, this is actually LIFE OR DEATH for us.

I don’t understand how this place can function!!?? I ordered 5 orders of Pho and they were the worst pho I ever ever ever had in my life! The meat smells really really old. The soup was bland and gross. We actually threw all of it away after first few bites because the smell. I didn’t end up in the emergency room but my stomach did not feel good at all. If only I could give negative ratings. I definitely do not recommend this place. Stay away!!!

This was my favourite pho restaurant for many many years. I came here growing up and always love the comfort of this place. As much as I'd like my ties to this place make me always and only go here for my favourite food I think they have changed their recipe for the deluxe pho a few months ago which is why I stopped coming for a while. Everytime I tried it again it just tasted weirdly different and it saddens me. Lol not that deep tho its still OK but no longer my favourite.

Ordered the lemongrass beef vermicelli and salad rolls. In brief, there is simply too much vermicelli filling out the dishes. I don’t know about other dishes but the lemon grass beef vermicelli was seriously lacking in ingredients that aren’t vermicelli. Too little carrot, no lettuce, bean sprouts were soggy, beef was tough, and the dish is just filled to the brim with rice vermicelli. The salad roll wasn’t any better. See the posted picture. It should be called a “vermicelli roll” as that’s basically all you’re getting in there. Was expecting more, I’ll try this place again and order the pho as that looks a lot better.
