Brined Southern Kitchen

Ate here today for lunch. It was very good and presented/plated very well. This place is much better than the small crowd indicates. I hope this place can find more patrons because it exceeded my expectations. I will be back. Keep up the good work. ps. I never write reviews but this place deserves it.

I'm in Dallas for the day, needed a good meal and picked thos place randomly. This place is beautiful inside, with water features, neutral tones and a rustic/industrial vibe. The person who greeted me was super friendly, and the service remained excellent throughout. I ordered the calamari, the caddy margarita and the chicken tortilla soup. The calamari were good, the soup was excellent and the margarita was perfect. If you tried this place before and were unsatisfied, give them another shot. It seems to me they're working on whatever wasn't good before, and a gorgeous spot like this should be packed every day, especially since the drinks are soooooooo good!

The interior is super nice here, and we enjoyed the food and service as well. We shared the artichokes and chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles came with a chorizo gravy, which sounded interesting, and once we tried it all together with the bacon it worked really well together. Very delicious flavors!

We decided to stop in on movie night and give Brined a try. The food was great. All the ingredients were fresh, buns for the burgers were toasted and warm. Food was not over seasoned in any way. The side salad greens were fresh and the ranch jalapeno dressing was tasty. We try a lot of new restaurants and are often disappointed. Brined did not disappoint! Great service, great food! We can't wait to go back.

If you follow my Travels and Table blog, you know that I like to try new restaurants.  For me to be a repeat customer, it must be something special.  I will be a repeat customer at Brined Southern Kitchen!  After a matinee movie at Mockingbird Station, my husband and I wanted to grab an early dinner before heading back out to the suburbs.  Brined Southern Kitchen had a great rating so we thought we would give it a try.  Lucky for us! There were a few people at the bar but other than that, we had the place to ourselves.  I didn't take it as a bad sign because as I mentioned, we went to an early movie.  Emily, the manager/bartender of Brined made it her responsibility to make sure that we had a great experience.  And with advertising as "Moonshine-Biscuits-Soul", they had some big shoes to fill.  We started with the tempura butter fried calamari served with smoke chili aoili & sweet chili sauce (my favorite).  When we cleaned our plate, we transitioned into our entrees.  I ordered the Chargrilled Skirt Steak with chimichurri, served with mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and cauliflower.  My husband opted for the Cowboy Flank Steak served with potato skins and ranchero sauce.  While both cuts of beef had great flavor, I really think I got the best order.  The chimichurri sauce was an excellent compliment to the tender skirt steak.  If I had a single complaint, it would be that the brussel sprouts were a little undercooked.  (But the tasty mashed cauliflower more than made up for the brussel sprouts!) We were completely stuffed but when Emily came out with the oatmeal pie that she wanted us to sample, we "had" to sample it.  Our politeness was rewarded!  The pie was warm and delicious and reminded me of a recipe I had at home.  That's about the highest compliment that I could give it.  And it had to be healthy, right?  There was oatmeal in it! I must add that the atmosphere was perfect for a restaurant serving southern cuisine in Dallas.  There was the right mix of tin, wood, and greenery.  There are even a couple of fountains!  And the pickled vegetables aren't just for decoration, they sell them too!  If you enjoy adult beverages, their menu is quite impressive. Lovely and cozy atmosphere perfect for a date night, and a spacious yet private patio. I ordered a manhattan which was made perfectly, and the blues 🍔. It was so huge two could eat it and the fries were crispy and thin (my favorite.) Will definitely be dining here again. Next time we want to try the chicken & waffles!
