Such a cute shop, the patio was adorable! Coffee was absolutely fantastic and fresh. The food was made right in front of us with fresh ingredients, and the staff was so friendly. Perfect place to grab a coffee and sandwich on our way out of town.

Camping at Van Buren State Park, needed a place to warm up and get out of the rain, this cafe was truly a delight. The large front window brightens up this coffee shop, most are so dark doing art is a struggle, not this place I’d highly recommend this to anyone in the Douglas or Saugatuck area looking for a place to do some writing, some art, or chatting with the locals. Wish they had some gluten-free pastries or snacks. Thank you so much for a great welcoming joint for my girlfriend, her service dog, and myself!!

This is one of my favorite places in Douglas for some breakfast and a latte with a friend. Yeah, sometimes it takes a minute to get your food, but it's a quaint, relaxed coffee place - they're always doing their best and that's what matters. Their baked goods are delicious, they have great breakfast options, and their coffee blends are great. I have no problem being patient and enjoying my coffee while I wait a few minutes for my food. 😊 Thank you for serving Douglas.

My husband and I are sure to visit Respite every time we visit from Illinois. We suggested our son and his wife try it. We all keep coming back. The menu board can satisfy any palate, and the coffee, tea, and specialty drinks are spot on. The staff has always been very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy.

A wonderful cafe run by some really nice people. I had a great time enjoying my coffee in their outdoor spot. I would definitely recommend others to try them out. Some really good selection of coffee and breakfast.

Easy parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Fresh pastries are devine. Drinks are great- I had an oatmilk lavender, honey latte. To go items are eco-friendly. Restroom is easy to find- bit cramped. They use the space well. Relaxing atmosphere and easy walking in downtown area to other shops.

Lovely little coffee shop. Can be slow service when it gets busy. But for only two people working, they did their best.
We vacationed here over the weekend and it became our morning stop for drinks. I love the tea glaciers, both Chai and matcha.

I've been here a few times every trip I take to Saugatuck and Douglas, and I just love it. The cold brew is delicious. Their pastries are insanely good (maybe too good 😋). And the best part is the staff. The girls there are so sweet and helpful. I wish I had a respite where I live!!

The baked oatmeal with cinnamon, strawberries, and blueberries is perhaps the best oatmeal I've ever had. My partner had the avocado toast and describes it as the best he's ever had. Super-friendly staff. Great place.

Lovely atmosphere. Delish lattes. Soothing environment. Nice and clean. Pricey but worth the splurge. Had a very fresh granola bowl that I enjoyed. My latte was excellent.
