American Grill

My family and I happened to stop at the American Grill in Exeter today just by happenstance. I for one am glad we did. I have a couple items to discuss: 1) The wait staff was welcoming and professional. I wanted to comment specifically on our server. This young lady was the single most capable server I believe my family has ever had the pleasure of ordering with. This young lady knew the menu, was kind, clear and concise. She had a clear command of the front of house, and all restaurant operations, was clearly a gifted multitasker. She was energetic and friendly to a fault. This young lady is a tremendous asset. 2) The atmosphere was welcoming, warm and clean. Though the American Grill has operated for some time the restaurant appears to be uncluttered, open and capable of serving it's many patrons in a quick manner. Cleanliness is apparently a top priority as we witnessed the staff actively and progressively cleaning and sanitizing counters and tables continuously. 3) The food was in one word, amazing! In America the common burger is ubiquitous, you can get one anywhere and anytime. Which is why it is so special when you can get a good one. I was amazed by the steamy heat eminating from my burger. The high quality of the beef, the freshness of the bun and everything else about it! This burger did not sit around. The grill heat was and remained in the burger for quite some time. The meatiness of the home made patty was filling rewarding and tasty! Clearly such a burger required something more than your standard ketchup to accompany it. So the genius who is behind the American Grill provides no less than five amazing regional, homemade and delicious BBQ sauces, at the ready, on the table. None of them disappoint! I was being conservative and frugal having just a burger. However, you can judge a place by the care they put into the common. At The American Grill in Exeter, they put incredible attention and dare I say love into each quickly prepared and presented meal. I can't emagine my joy had I been more adventurous and ordered one of their more notable and substantial offering such as Brisket, Pulled Pork, or Chicken. My wife had a chicken grilled cheese that singlehandedly changed her life! 4) All this without breaking the bank. Quite frankly the prices were generous to the customer and affordable for a family meal. In Closing, all I can say is, in simple terms, is that, I and my family will be returning frequently to The American Grill to eat their very good food! Visited for a quick meal on a Friday night. They have a good menu and the service is great. They have plenty of seating and I would describe the atmosphere as a “BBQ Diner.” They also offer a plentiful drink menu. The BBQ is good however if you’ve had authentic Texas or Kansas City BBQ, you may be underwhelmed. They offer a variety of sauces on the table, so you can choose what works for you or try them all. Overall a good spot if you need a BBQ fix and want to sit down with family and friends to do so.
