Saigonese Cafe

This has the best food in Adelaide. I visit the owner weekly and everything is made fresh to order, which is a point of difference to his business. I recommend the amazing pork, dumplings, spring rolls, soups, cold rolls, lunch rolls, chicken noodle soups, coffees. Just go say hi, take a seat and enjoy!!!

Spectacularly disappointing bowl of laksa dumplings. I expected quality for its price ($15). It's a simple dish with dumplings, broth and finely chopped lettuce on top. The flavour is very average and the lack of noodles made it unpleasant for me to finish off the bowl. I exited the cafe feeling unsatisfied and leaving behind my half-eaten meal.

While the food is beautifully cooked, I have noticed one glaring issue. Over the past 6 months or so the portion sizes have dropped noticeably. The Chicken Laksa was once a huge bowl filled almost the brim with an amazing soup and heaped with ingredients - but now it is often 3/4 full and you have to scoop around to find the goodies within the soup. It still tastes amazing, but the bang for your buck has gone. The same with the cold rolls, once filling up the containers, now they aren't big enough to touch the sides of the containers. It's a shame because the quality of the food is fantastic.
