Palmetto Restaurant & Alehouse

We walked in and the host was playing with his phone. We stood for a minute before a waitress came and seated us. I really expected a poor experience based on the inattentive host, but I was surprised. The food was great and the waitress was awesome. The beer selection was super. I tried a few different ones and liked them all.

We were quickly seated upon arriving but our server never showed up so we ended up getting another server and although we had to wait a little she was absolutely wonderful! The server that waited on us was Ashley. The food was absolutely phenomenal! My boyfriend got the Smokehouse Burger and he said it was one of the best burgers he’s ever eaten. He’s a cook himself so it’s hard to please him lol. I ordered the Chicken Tenders with Alfredo Pasta as my side and the chicken was definitely the best chicken I’ve ever had anywhere. The pasta was cooked just right and I usually have to order more Alfredo sauce anywhere else I go because it’s so dry but not here!! We highly recommend this place!

Not good. The service was pretty good minus getting my order wrong. Our drinks are topped off and the server was polite. However the food was bad and the silverware looked dirty. My chicken was not cooked all the way through and the ribeye sandwich was overdone fatty piece of meat not sliced. I have never given a one star, but they earned it.

DONT ORDER THE RIBS: Marketing begins Jean Paul ribs got my mouth watering... I should’ve taken a picture of these meatless toothpick but for the same price just grab a few racks at Costco and save yourself the anger and frustration that I’m currently experiencing. Great service from Tamara she’s funny and did a great job. No complaints about the salmon salad even if you gotta take it to go

Based on the menu, I was very excited about getting food from here and thought I’d be a repeat customer. Boy, was I wrong. Where to start... My husband ordered the lobster bisque for me as a surprise and it certainly was one. It came in this tiny container (blue cheese dip from his chicken for reference) and it was 2/3 full. Ok. Lobster is expensive. Maybe it’s just really good quality. Nope. It tastes like cheap canned tuna. I tried to get used to it. I tried to dress it up. It’s just not acceptable. (Before the owner jumps at the chance to throw some snarky comment my way, I do know a thing or two about food.) On top of that, the fries are dry, limp (even after a quick broil), and totally unseasoned and my husband’s chicken was way too salty. Not only is this stuff not worth the price tag, but it’s also such a disappointment and I’m left hungry because so much of it is inedible.

We made this one our work lunch stops this past week. Getting there after the rush, we were promptly greeted and seated. Our server was refreshing and a pleasure to have compared to most places. I ordered the fish and chips and had a disappointment with it. The outer portion was done very nicely, one of the fish sticks was okay but the other two were much better. But they were saturated on the bottom, maybe the malt, so became very soggy.
