The only issue I’d say is parking is a huge issue for parties. Otherwise this establishment is excellent. The food is better here then their Bloomfield location, every single dish came out in a timely matter— and the staff is great!

This Filipino restaurant (a popular restaurant chain in the Philippines) offers authentic food and beverages. Clean and decorative dining area with an upstairs dining room which is great for larger groups. I always place takeout orders by phone (early afternoon on a weekday) and my order is accurate. Whomever I speak to is pleasant and repeats my order back to me along with an estimated pick-up time. Meals are a bit expensive, but taste delicious. Parking is definitely a challenge and the restaurant entrance is handicap accessible.

Like a home cooked meal! Food hit the spot. Everything was delicious. We were making the yummy sounds as we ate. We were a party of four and we shared chicken skin (it was hot and crispy) my daughter loved it over rice. We shared Nilagang baka (beef soup), Sinigang baboy (pork tamarind soup), and lechon kawali (friend pork) over white rice. Please see our photos. The service was outstanding. They made sure our waters were always filled. We asked questions about the menu and they were very kind and helpful. For dessert we shared ube ice cream and turon ala mode. We had left over and took it to go. We were pleased with everything. The bill was about $100 with tip and worth every penny. Will be back for sure.

This delicious Philippine restaurant surprised me by its authenticity. I have been to many but this one had calamansi juice, a lime that has a taste similar to an orange who met a lime and had a baby. They even have banana ketchup, if you haven't had it will change the ketchup game for you forever. It was delicious, we also had the fried lumpia as an appetizer, crispy golden crust with a pork mixture seasoned to perfection. As main courses we got the Kare-Kare, a beef stew in peanut broth. The meat was fall apart tender and it had fresh vegetables mixed in. The only thing is I would add some salt as it was a bit bland, not like the crispy pork belly, the other main course chosen. It was tender, juicy, fatty and super crispy, just thinking about it is making my mouth salivate. It comes with a sweet brown tamarind sauce and fermented shrimp sauce (a classic sauce that adds saltiness and umami flavor to food once you get past the strong smell). We got the garlic rice and it was fried garlic mixed with white rice. So delicious. As a way to end the meal we had the halo halo, the shaved ice was chunky but the mix ins were perfect. Halo halo means mix mix and its a variety of sweet beans, fruit, custard, ice cream, gelatin, condensed milk and canned fruit. So yummy, lets say the person who accompanied me has been mind blown and now loves halo halo.

The quintessential and famous Max’s restaurant is still my go-to spot for Filipino fried chicken. If you are looking for “sarap to the bones”chicken, then Max’s restaurant is for you. They boast a wide array of Filipino food that will surely satisfy your cravings. The sleeper appetizer that caught me off-guard is their chicken skin chicharon. It was heaven in every bite. The crispy, crunchy, delicious chicken skin was cooked to perfection. It was the perfect appetizer to anticipate your main entree. Go on and visit you’re local Max’s restaurant and taste the righteousness yourself! Don’t forget to grab dessert on your way home!
