Catford Constitutional Club

CCC has today launched Sunday Roast - finally! I went to check it out with a friend and her son. We were not disappointed! The food was absolutely yummy! Perfectly cooked beef, red cabbage was something else - a bit sweet taste with a zingy finish - perfect! Veg not overcooked, nice gravy. And the portions are very generous. I’ll be definitely coming back! The boy has a cheeseburger + fries which were also great. I definitely recommend it, specially as the prices are very fair.

Food was good especially for the price, and it's pretty nice inside. However really disappointed with the service, we were one of two tables in there yet got pretty much ignored, and we were charged twice for one of the meals (my friend paid for my meal as gift but they also charged me for it at the end). When we went to explain (and with proof ie receipts) they just wouldn't even entertain the idea, incredibly rude, let alone offer a refund. Such a shame, as I like to support local, but staff really let the place down.

Edit: coming back a few months later, the noise level has improved, the roof top bar is a real gem in summer and last but not least: women's toilets aplenty and really nice and clean. Highly recommended! Nice to have a new venue in Catford. Nice decor and atmosphere. Good selection of drinks. I have to agree with an earlier comment about acoustics though. I'm tempted to blame it on the lack of soft furnishing and plain concrete ceiling.... Would love to see the front windows a bit more decorated as well, somehow. Will there be an outside space at the back at some point? Will have to go back soon to try the food.
