The menu features classic pub fare as well as more creative dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I had the pork belly, which were perfectly cooked and came with a generous portion of vegetables and gravy. The beer selection at The Mere Scribbler is also excellent. They have a wide variety of beers on tap, including both local and international brews. The service at The Mere Scribbler is friendly and attentive. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and made helpful recommendations. He also made sure our glasses were always full. Overall, I had a great experience at The Mere Scribbler Pub. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone looking for a great place to enjoy a meal and a drink.

Helpful and friendly staff. Chloe was great. Popped in for a roast and was not disappointed. We chose the swinger roast (a bit of an odd name) which consisted of beef, pork and chicken to share. The portion was huge and the quality was brilliant. Crispy pork, perfectly medium rare beef and tasty chicken. My bug bare with most pub roasts is non crispy potatoes. But the chef here really knows what he is doing. Potatoes were perfect. I will visit again soon.
