Haxells Restaurant & Bar is a hotel restaurant located in Strand Palace. The atmosphere is upscale and the menu is easy to navigate. For theatergoers, there is a menu for £30. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and professional.

The salad is beautifully presented. A bit too oily for me, strong enough to taste the olive flavor— at least the oil seems good. There’s no balsamic taste in it, however. Probably someone in the kitchen forgot it. I asked for extra vinegar on the side and it’s better. (Hope people ordering hot dishes won’t have problems as it will be more difficult to fix.) On the bright side, the has more greens than I expected XD The spinach is super fresh and the avocado is not raw.
The espresso is decent for a hotel.
Overall a pretty welcoming cafe/bar in the hotel lobby. Ample lighting and power sockets for me to read a book while my friend recharges by Power Nap.

Excellent service seated very quickly and dinner for wonderful, all staff very pleasant and polite, me and my mum enjoyed, with thanks to my daughter for our birthday. Lovely and well done.

great dessert place! I have had three of their delicious desserts: lemon tart (beautifully presented), apple tarts (nice warm, sugary apple slices with ice cream), and cream brûlée (glazed with warm and fabulously browned sugar crust).
P.S. I wish they served light breakfast sets like “croissants and coffee”. I think they only have heavy breakfast “set” (~$16 USD for a traditional english breakfast, plus croissant and plus coffee/tea)

The afternoon tea seated area is tucked away, separate from all other hotel foyer activities. Service was great and the food was of good quality. I find this with a lot of places, I wish they did Assam tea. This is my preference over English Breakfast tea.

We had afternoon tea in Haxells which is inside the Strand Palace Hotel, very nice room and surroundings, food and tea was excellent as were the staff who were helpful and friendly,

I ate at Haxells for dinner as I am staying at the hotel it is connected to and received a voucher. I must say the food was amazing. The roasted butternut squash blew me away. As a vegetarian it is sometimes difficult to find quality meals that do not contain meat and this was just amazing. The service was also very good

Good restaurant inside a historic hotel. Our choices were varied and we were very happy with dinner overall. Food looks and tastes good. There is also a bar in the restaurant as well as separate fun bar and even American diner on the other side of hotel.
