The Dorchester Rooftop

Hospitality at its finest This evening will remain in our memories for a very, very long time. Sitting on the rooftop of the dorchester, enjoying the sunset and "take that" playing live in Hyde Park in the background - a very special setting. But what made the evening so special was the hospitality that we were able to enjoy from Sophie and her team. Many, many thanks for that!! That must be what is called "unreasonable hospitality". Absolutely fantastic!

Amazing views, eyewatering prices, and a live band (on Saturday night) singing easy listening hits that frankly I found more distracting than entertaining. The food was good but the portions were on the small side - then again it's a place you go to pose rather than stuff your face. Plenty of staff though, all obliging and helpful.

Visited as a walk-in for dessert and drinks. The service was quite slow as the staff were incredibly busy and run off their feet! Otherwise the experience was wonderful! Managed to be seated at a table inside. Was very impressed by the extensive knowledge of the staff and loved hearing about the history of the venue, such as the fact it used to be a suite at the hotel. The warm cookie was very generous in portion size and tasted delicious. I would return especially for dessert! The cocktails looked very special too, and the live music really supported the atmosphere. The nuts were a great touch. Lacked a lot of vegetarian mains on the menu beyond pasta/risotto.
