Superbe expérience, serveurs aux petits soins
Le patron fait le spectacle en expliquant les plats. Carte réduite qui garanti des produits frais. A refaire

I would have to say that after tonight I must say that this is the 1st true bouillabaisse I have eaten.
Epic.
7 types of fish.. cooked to order... add the croutons with either garlic aioli or peppers and let them float
You can order some fish grilled but you can do that anywhere ... order the bouillabaisse an enjoy life

Let's be explicit: It's a tourist trap! I am sorry.
Food is good but you get overfished and it is definitely way overpriced. I have had better Bouillabaisse at a fraction (75 EUR) and that's the problem with this place.
Value for money is way off but they manage to portrait a 'look which celebrity dined here some 15 years ago' hype!

The bouillabaisse is very good, with delicious broth, fresh fish and yummy (therefore super high in cholesterol) aïoli and rouille. But is it worth the price difference with Fonfon (€75 vs €50), and having to put up with nonchalant, rude waiters even if they're dressed in white?

Best bouillabaisse ever! Nothing else to say! If you go to Marseille, you have to go to this place! I had the opportunity to try other restaurants, but nothing beats this place! It is expensive, right, but it's worthy.
The service is not too fast, you can take your time and enjoy slowly. High quality service, very polite. The restaurant has 40 servings only. The atmosphere is good, relaxing. You can also enjoy the beach view by the window. The place is also well-known by celebrities.
Tips : don't eat anything at all (or anything too heavy) before, or drink too much, otherwise you won't be able to finish the meal. They don't have kids meals, and in my opinion, it's too bad if you go with kids who cannot really enjoy it.

Most famous for their bouillabaisse-seafood soup of marseille. Rich tomato fish based soup served w baguette and croutons. Super fresh and savory and the service is impeccable. A must try if you are in the area. Make sure to reserve ahead since they dont accept walk ins.

Friendly people and really good taste. The restaurant is old fashion, the waiters are wearing uniform which could only be seen in old movie. Worth to go and strongly recommending.

This is a very difficult place to be reviewed. It should technically be a 4 stars, but because of the price and the fact that it has a michelin star (unjustifiable) I lowered its rating to 3 stars.
Marseille is more or less divided among two factions: from one side there is Chez Fonfon, from the other one Chez Michel. Both serves bouillabaisse, and it must be said both of them are delicious. And different. So in the end I will already conclude this battle with a prosaic "they are different, it really depends on your personal taste".
Chez Michel propose a bouillabaisse (don-t bother to eat anything else, just take it!) with a much stronger and spicy broth. The fish is of course very fresh, and the fact that they are showing it to you before cooking it is a nice addiction to the dish.
So while the food is actually good (4 stars) even if pretty expensive (ours was 75 € per person) the environment and the service is what drags the rating low here.
This is definitely the place that just "tries too much", with the white jackets for the waiters and the old-style silverware. But if you want to go for that kind of restaurant, dirty windows, old tablecloths and rude waiters is something that you really want to avoid. Oh and the pizzeria style plastic menus with pen correction, seriously? are you joking?
I'm sorry but this is something unacceptable in a 1 star michelin restaurant, and it what it drags the rating of this place down.
A pity.

Good bouillabaisse but really poor service. I can't say it's a one-star Michelin restaurant.

While the bouillabaisse was delicious (4 stars) the service should have gotten negative stars (-3) to average at 1 star. Owner and wait staff were rude and condescending. They completely ignored us for nearly the entirety of our time there while it was very clear they were helping others. The continually asked others if everything was okay and kept their backs turned to us to avoid looking in our direction. While we had to ask for everything (water, bouillabaisse refills, wine, food, bill, etc...) they brought it to the tables next to us without them ever asking. Our bus boy was the one exception, however he was also inexperienced and hesitant.
