Chestnut Exchage Cafe

This used to be one of my favourite cafes for special lunch - the food was always great as was the coffee. Unfortunately it looks like it has changed owners. The menu and prices are the same but the food is only a shadow of its former yummy self. I didn't risk the coffee given the food disappointment. The only bonus was that it looks like others voted with their feet, and so it's much less crowded than it used to be.

The staff here went above and beyond to facilitate myself and my friends. We arrived in between breakfast and lunch times, and they happily served both between our group. The food was excellent and presented in a timely fashion despite our awkward timing, the staff were all wonderful and the cafe was very well maintained.

Was disappointed today, we sat down at midday with only two other tables taken, and after a ten minute wait, we were told that the kitchen will open in another ten minutes, and the waitress couldn't tell us how long after that we would receive our meal. We went over the road and finished a meal before we would have started our food here. No wonder it was empty! Poor effort guys.
