Grotto Pizza

Had a great first experience at Grotto pizza. Got a seat by the fireplace and our waitress was wonderful. We were in total amazement how delicious our pepperoni pizza was! When we told the waitress we needed another to take joke, she suggested the partial baked pizza. We are now officially addicted to Grottos for pizza!

Ordered the gluten-free veggie personal pizza. Got some warm half-baked crust smeared with dry sauce and a smattering of vegetables. I realize that many restaurants in this community don't offer vegan/gluten-free options but what they served was uncalled for. Just don't offer what you can't execute. The pie was a disappointing failure; a waste of money. I wouldn't spend any more of my money here--even on a french fry--not because they couldn't get that right either but they were too willing to disrespect this customer's patronage which means they must not want or value it.

Grotto's is one of my favorite places to get pizza when I'm visiting in Delaware. I have been to multiple locations in the area, and they are all pretty similar in appearance. For some reason, the pizza was not quite as good as other locations I've been to (can't put my finger on it). Nonetheless, it was still good, and I was glad that we stopped. Service was excellent! I love that I can get some popcorn from the bar area and take it to the table while we wait for our pizza! Boardwalk fries with cheese was also a tasty appetizer!
