Sesame

One of the best and one of my favorite restaurants on St. Catherine's. The cocktail menu is scrumptious and the huge choices on the menu are all delicious. Get lots if sides for sharing like the papaya salad, chilli chicken, fried rice and the fabulous dumplings. Fantastic customer service too and I love the big lingual menu for English speakers. Top notch!

I went on a Sunday evening. There was no space inside so we were seated on the patio. Our waitress was good. The food was good but not a big portion at all and expensive. I took the burger which was good but the chicken fried rice was descent. For the desert, I had the cheesecake but it was way too small and for the drink I had the Chinese medicine and it was ok. We also waited a very long time for our order and there was mixup in our order.

We had to make a reservation through this website in order to get a table at Sesame because it was quite full every day. I ordered the medium-sized tom yum soup with noodles and a Geisha Blush cocktail, while my friend had a tofu stir-fried. The portion of the food was reasonable with the price but the soup wasn't steaming hot when it was served. I ordered a small-size cocktail and I wished I ordered a big one instead cause it was really delicious. The waitress was really nice and attentive. Would recommend to go on either a Wednesday or a Thursday cause that's when they have a discount on their alcoholic beverages.

Simply Ok. It’s fine, good ambiance, fun drinks, but honestly just average. The quality of drinks was mediocre. Not impressed, but also have had worse. They sounded better than they tasted. TLDR: The only thing worth your money are the edamame in bean sauce. As for entrees, the peanut butter dumplings were a hit! The sauce was great! The mini poke bowl is a bang for your buck, and a really cute size! Lots of rice though. Wonton soup was actually delicious. Basically entrees were the best food we had. As for mains, the general tao bowl was fresh but really average. The chicken pad thai had close to no chicken in it, and the thai basil had literally no sauce. The rice in the dishes wasn’t even cooked well, tasted super dry. Large portions though. Good for anyone who can’t find anywhere else to go. Friendly staff! Slightly disorganized and there’s no hostess. They’ll get better hopefully! Bathrooms need HELP! absolutely not up to code lol. barely room for my knees and i’m 5’.

Ambiance: Great place for a dinner out. This is an upscale Asian style restaurant, which caters to a more western clientele. There are modern touches with couch seating, bar & tables. They set the mood with lighting at night. They also have a patio facing one of the busiest walking street so I can understand the line up to get into this place. Food: Tom Yum Soup: This came warm, not necessarily oozing with flavor of Tum Yum you would expect to get at an Asian restaurant. This was however much flavorful than my main course. General Tao was recommended to myself by the staff. This was underwhelming as It was dry, The chicken was coated with a thick batter which would have not been an issue but had it been a little saucy this would be great. I, unfortunately could not finish my meal. Service: Impeccable, despite the language barrier, I had no issues communicating and she was very attentive.

They serve Asian food targeting non-Asian. Couldn't get a table at dinner time on a Friday night without a reservation anywhere else. Luckly, we got a table at their patio. The sun was blocked by the building so their patio was pretty comfortable. Their food was not bad and presentation was good. However, the potion seemed small. The steam bun of the chicken burger was not warm. Service was okay.

We had such a wonderful experience the first day we were here. The food was good and the staff was friendly and attentive, so we decided to go back the next day. Unfortunately, we did not receive the same service the next day. In contrast to our initial experience, someone sat us at the table without explaining the specials. Another came about 5 minutes later, without greeting or introduction and asked us if we were ready to order. Our drinks and meals arrived at the same time. No one checked to see how our meal was going. We could not get out of there fast enough. I’m not sure what made the difference between the first and second day (we did arrive about an hour later in the second day) but we did not feel welcome. The food was good on both days, it was just the service that was sub-par on the second day. I hope no one else gets this experience.
