A complete delight! Really really really good food 😋😋The highlight was the oh-so-tender lamb. The ambience was magical, with beautiful interiors inspired by Spanish tapas bars. Great music. And amazing service😍

In a city full of Italian, Continental & Fusion food, the love for Spanish food was missing and El Mercado just fills the gap.
It means The Market in Spanish and a true market place for gorging on the delectable cuisines from Spain. The quaint cafe looks beautiful & the interiors are decked up exactly how you define tranquility.
Well, the menu is a hard work of many months and only notch dishes made it to the list.
We started with Pan Con Tomate Mallorquin along with Gambas Al Ajollon followed by Bocadillo De Calamares. The Huevos Con Benedictinos was amazing too. We ended with Crema Catalana and had a great time spent here.

Spanish cuisine is one of the very distinct & assorted cuisines to explore. So be it delightful tapas to appetizing seafood or cheeses to churros, it's always exciting to try original as well as innovative options in Spanish cuisine.
Currently, there is no stopping to the different cuisines we get to explore in Mumbai city. Then why authentic Spanish cuisine too will be left out of the line?
El Mercado - meaning market in Spanish, is Mumbai's first ever dinky cafe offering classic Tapas Spanish dishes with a little modern twist to suit the Indian palate.
With rustic decor, soothing music, delicious food & hushed environment, El Mercado is your go-to place if you are looking for a relaxing corner that offers yummy coffee along with other innovative dishes to munch on.
Few options that should be definitely tried here-
From Breakfast-
Pan Con Tomate Mallorquin
Spanish Omelette
From Tapas-
Gazpacho Andaluz
Beetroot Borani
Desserts-
Crema Catalana
Caramel Custard
So take a quick tour to Spain by enjoying delightful Spanish food offered at El Mercado as it's definitely one of the best tapas in Mumbai.
Happy Meal! :)

Once you get a taste of real Spanish food, you just can't have enough of it. I'm so glad to have feasted on some out-of-this-world Spanish food on my travels through Spain. El Mercado is as good and as authentic as it can get in this part of the world.
From the cozy little space, to the cutsey decor, they do take me back to the intimate restaurants in the bylanes of Madrid.
Start of with some plump pimento stuffed olives & toasted bread that come gratis while you ponder on what to order.
I recommend you try the Gambas Al Ajillo, cooked in a ton of really good olive oil, garlic & chilly flakes. Perfect to dip your bread in and soak up all of that flavored oil. For vegetarians, you can't go wrong with the Patats Bravas.
Although I was really looking forward to the Paella, 🥘 this one was a little of a let down. We had the mix seafood one. But, the rice wasn't cooked through and the flavors weren't as punchy as I remember it to be in Spain. Although, I have to ad the calamari was surprisingly nicely done and not rubbery at all. The sea food is really really fresh!
They just have to work more on the flavors. It's also the priciest dish on the menu at a whopping 1300 rupees for a portion for 2 good eaters. That's really expensive for an average dish.
I can't wait to go back and try some more food there though.

What an enchanting little place that serves delectable tapas and mains. Hosts are super friendly and know their food so well. They made incredible recommendations to us and it has been one of my most memorable meals in Bombay. If you’re looking for a date night place, this is pretty much it!

Wonderful food made even more special by how accommodating they were about our dietary preferences. The flavors of each dish we ordered were outstanding, I especially loved the beet borani and the garbanzo stew (customized to include chunks of fish.) The paella was excellent, and we were surprised and pleased to have them do scrambled instead of fried egg in the migos, something that came out of a conversation and not something on their menu. Vidur Kapoor attended to us personally and was so very hospitable and knowledgeable. They really went above and beyond.
I can't recommend this tiny but charming spot highly enough. I'm going back for the food, of course, but also how amenable they were to customizing our plates.

Expensive, with small portions. Good food, nice ambience. Try the Lamb meatballs and mushrooms in garlic & olive oil. Located in a quiet lane close to Carter Road.

Fantastic fresh addition to Bandra’s food scene. Have tried this place for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it has delivered every time. My preference is the morning when it’s cosy and quiet. The space is small so when it fills up it does get a little cramped. Nonetheless, I highly recommend.
