Dirty Buns

The name says it all! You have to get your hands dirty to eat those delicious buns! Very different flavours of food that they offer, and very adjusting to requests as well. The chermoula lamb roll that was had was super stuffed and amazing ! Juicy meat and perfectly marinated! Even the spicy coconut chicken bao was really good, not what I imagined but equally tastey! We also had the Caribbean spiced chicken with lime crema, must say the like flavour went perfectly with the tender chicken! Since we had had such a good meal, we got greedy with dessert and opted for the churros and the strawberry shortcake, both of which were good but nothing out of the ordinary as the savoury food we had just had! But over all lovely food and lovely place!

Dirty Buns, one of the most unique and fine places in Kamala mills and also one of my favorites. With a dedicated Asian cuisine on its menu, mainly Korean this place needs to be visited in each and every aspect. The ambiance is kinda retro with all the popular songs being played from the '90s. Coming to the service, it's absolutely top-notch. The food is their USP, the presentation and execution in on point. Also kudos to the bartender who made such wonderful mind-boggling cocktails with a great finish.The portions are not that big or so but it's good enough to be shared between 2 people. Our entire meal was simply heaven, where we started off with few recommendations from the chef and they were quite a delight. "Portuguese Chicken Skewers, Garlic Labneh" Too good to be true, it was just fantastic. Great marination and amazing taste. "Tuna Avocado Salad" One of the best salad I have had in recent times. With crispy lotus stem & avocado mousse, it was just the perfect thing to have. Recommended to all who are watching their calories. "Crispy Soft Shell" Just go for it. Crispiness, taste & presentation everything was just perfect. The main course was an another level experience. We had, "Chili Butter Garlic Shrimp". I had this in a roll and let me tell you the bread in which they served was just way too good. It was buttery, flaky and just melted right away in the mouth. The spicy aioli and crispy garlic made it even more appetizing. "Spicy Pork" Relished this with a decent portion of jasmine rice. Must have for pork lovers. Even though it says its spicy pork, it wasn't that spicy but you can tell them to prep it according to your preferences The dessert was the best part where we had, "Strawberry Shortcake". It was fairly a beautiful mess that I loved having. Brown bread sponge cake with strawberry jam, brandy syrup, mascerated strawberries, shortbread crumble & whipped cream. Too good. It was a beautiful experience accompanied by great music and great service. an't wait to come over at this place over the weekend at night and have some fun.

The best thing this place has to offer is their service. The staff is very friendly and extremely warm with prompt attendance. The food however is good but not great. We ordered the mushroom truffle bao buns and Mac & cheese truffle roll. The bao stuffing of mushrooms and truffle butter was very well prepared but the buns were extremely disappointing. Thin and soggy. The bun would fall apart every time you take a bite. The Mac and cheese roll was surprisingly well cooked and the bread was better than the stuffed Mac and cheese. This place is heavy on the pocket but for a restaurant in Kamala Mills I wouldn't expect anything else.

One more jewel added to the treasure box of Kamla Mills and we really loved the experience out here . The place has a very precise menu which covers lots of veg and non veg Delicacies . We savoured their veg Delicacies and here are our recommendations . Nachos : The best part of this dish is their signature crisp nachos chips . The chips are extremely fresh and topped with proportionate quantity of sauces and black beans with salsa . Loved it to the core . Cobb Salad : Lettuce , Tofu , orange & freshly baked sweet corn pieces all tossed in their signature salad dressing . Eggplant & marinara Roll : Crispy eggplant chips topped over cheesy roll. The marinara sauce complimented extremely well with the herbs and that amazing garlic flavour of the roll. Should not miss this when out here Mushrooms Bao : Highly recommended for those who love a smoky flavour . The teriyaki mushrooms with sweet aromatic caramelized and smoked flavoured onions went well within the soft and fresh baos. Churros : Freshly made and comes in three flavours . Let's get dirty! That's what you shall see in LED lighting once you step inside Dirty Buns. The name itself brings out a lot of curiosity. Menu designed and curated by Chef Boo Kim. Dirty Buns has opened 2 outlets, one at Kamala Mills and other at Breach Candy. I was at the Kamala Mills outlet. Interiors are done beautifully. Especially loved the lighting. A mix of high tables, regular ones and sofa seating. Was seated at the sofa arrangement and just besides was a showpiece wall and one can see some real interesting ones. One of my favorites was the astronaut, have seen this now at some places. Dirty Buns has a very interesting menu and one gets the best of small plates, rolls, baos, desserts and interesting drinks. Chef Rinki hosted us for the evening and was very warm and welcoming in terms of guiding us through the menu. The music was nice and groovy. Talking about what all we tried at Dirty Buns - We started with Dirty Fries - crunchy fries (kind of wedges) topped with chilli, cheese sauce and Parsley. Superb dish and quite filling. Must try at Dirty Buns, perfect to go along with some drink to begin. Next we had the Green Peas Falafel and Lavash Bread with Hummus and Pickled Onion. I loved the Falafel - Hummus especially. Lavash needs some work. Onions, Beetroot and Carrots all dipped in vinegar. Along with food, we ordered for Yuzu Virgin Mocktail drink - Yuzu (citrus food), fresh apple juice, lime juice nicely blended. A refreshing option. Currently this was the only Mocktail but on request they can make some special cocktail preparations Virgin. We were pretty full by then and I wanted to try something from their dirty rolls section but was a little too full. We moved straight to Dirty Baos - Corn Fritters Bao, with Cilantro, parmesan and smoked paprika. Two Baos, neatly presented, quite filling. Finally for desserts, we tried the Churros - glazed with different flavors. One with Vanilla pastry cream, one with chocolate sauce and cookie Crumble and one with caramel sauce and granola. Churros were simply awesome, perhaps one of the best that I would have had in a long time. They literally melt in your mouth. Must try and recommended at Dirty Buns. A great experience indeed, good food, good drinks, good music, good ambiance. Nothing much to correct. Would recommend to try Dirty Buns and get Dirty!!

Kamla Mills has been my favorite party area since it is home to some crazy party places in Mumbai. Out of them one place which was on my list was dirty buns. After Bastian Kim Boo's new experiment is party destination with a very exquisite menu. Again keeping the menu limited to certain bites gives the kitchen and amazing turn around time. No doubt I was fan of the ambience the minute I entered this place and the rest was done by food and hospitality. Chef Rinki was heck of an host. She has been taking regular feedbacks and suggesting me some amazing dishes from their menu from which maximum was seafood. So we started our dine with most popular Dirty Buns Martini(Must try) which had a twist to regular vodka martini. No doubt it was not that strong to warm your body so you could actually have more. Crispy Prawns (Must try): Deep-fried prawns with a perfect feeling of poppers but with a strong flavor of ginger which is a game changer. It goes a perfect nibble with your drinks. Chicken Skewers (Must try): The idea of serving skewers with soft bao is a perfect combination. The chicken skewers were soft and well cooked. Chilli Butter Garlic Shrimp: The last time had butter garlic prawns this was a complete different game. The pieces actually melted in my mouth and the garnishing was perfect. Dirty Lobster Roll: Again not a lobster fan but wanted to try it because it is one of the most popular dishes. I felt it was super heavy though the meat was not much in quantity. Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie(Must try): Chocolate pie at its best. Healthy filling of Nutella and topped with choco chips it is a perfect dessert for your chocolate palate.
