Amazing Cajun cuisine spot for gluten-free dish seekers. I had the vegan and gluten-free gumbo and it was simply delicious! I really enjoyed and was happy to finally taste it :)

Absolutely amazing food. My wife and I have allergens to the best and most common food ingredients (egg, dairy, gluten and shellfish). As such, we tend to eat at vegan places as it usually caters to 3/4 if not all of our allergens.
We were a bit disappointed to not eat at Cafe Du Monde based on our allergies. We found Meals From the Heart which is right around the corner from Cafe Du Monde. And their Vegan & Gluten-Free Beignets were amazing and worth it.
We would eat here every day if we could.

I really enjoyed stopping here. The man who took our order was named DC, and the woman who cooked the food was Ms. Lee. The owner’s (Marilyn) son, James, was also there. I want to really commend this staff. They were so friendly and accommodating and knowledgeable of dietary restrictions. I was excited to get to enjoy gluten free gumbo. It was so well made, and I could tell they really care for their customers and ensuring that they are being well taken care of. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a healthy meal made by loving hands, and if you have dietary restrictions, I just want you to know that their gluten free gumbo pretty much tastes like the real deal. It was GREAT. (My boyfriend tasted mine for comparison.) Bless this staff and I hope your business absolutely flourishes and grows! PS - they have the most BOMB mimosas I’ve ever had. Just so y’all know. Deeeefinitely get a mimosa. I had the pineapple and my love had the class orange mimosa and they were both very tasty.

Vegan beignets!!! So thankful for the chance to have beignets. I am dairy free, but not vegan. We were able to get everything we wanted on the menu, all dairy free. Sincerely, some of the best food we have ever had and eating is almost a full time job for us. We like to get something to eat while figuring out what we are going to eat next. Bloody Mary was phenomenal as well!

Being able as a vegan to try the flavours of the New Orleans & southern kitchen was a gift. It was so delicious, we went 3 times for lunch in 1 week. The vegan beignets and crab cake are to die for.

This place is extraordinary! I've been in NOLA for a week and being vegan here has been haaaaard! I really wish I'd found this place sooner, I would've come every day! But I'm so glad I found it even if it's on my last day. I didn't think I'd get the opportunity to try classic Louisiana dishes like gumbo and beignets but meals from the heart have all that and so much more. The food was amazing and the service was excellent too, the man behind the counter was an absolutely joy. The French Market atmosphere just made it even better. If I'm ever back in NOLA this is where I'll come for sure. If the staff are reading this, thank you so much, you made my trip 🙏🌻🌈💛

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat today. The French market is hot and feels pretty stuffy despite being open and having fans. But this place is DELICIOUS. There was only one person working the counter so there was a little wait for my order but it was well worth it. The guy at the counter was very nice as well. I got the vegan krab cake po'boy and some potatoes. It was so filling, and honestly hit the spot. I don't know too many places that serve vegan crab cakes but im glad to have found this one.

Visited New Orleans on our southern US road trip, and having a severe gluten intolerance I was kind of bummed out that I wouldn’t be able to try a lot of the local food. Came across from the heart cafe through a Google search and was already beyond excited. The gentlemen at the front suggested the shrimp and grits and OML it delivered. It’s as the best gluten free meal I have ever had, presentation was gorgeous, and it wasn’t service, it was hospitality. Planning on coming back to New Orleans asap, and will absolutely be stopping by again!!!

Vegan Tacos which we requested without the protein and they obliged.
Quantity was adequate and filling.

We ate here multiple times while in NOLA and the food was wonderful! Very food allergy friendly, separate menus depending on your allergy or preference. Coffee was great with dairy alternatives. Gluten-free beignets for the New Orleans experience. A must try. We will come back here when we are in NOLA again!
