Sylvain

Sylvain has long been one of our favorite restaurants in the French Quarter. We went here for the second year in a ton for a out wedding anniversary lunch, and just could not be more pleased with the experience. The food was top notch, the service was attentive and prompt, and the overall vibe was wonderful as always. I'd be hard pressed to say that there is a restaurant we enjoy more in the Quarter. You simply can't go wrong by heading to this place..

Really cool place, and all the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I wish we had gone during the day to sit in the patio, which was very picturesque, but for us, it was late and too cold. The food was good. We had the pairing special, the pasta bologniese, the burger, and the chicken sandwich. The fries and the chicken were so crispy!

The crew at Sylvain were so extremely accommodating this afternoon. I had a last minute video chat with a client and needed a "quiet" place to settle down. That's hard to find in the French Quarter on a Saint's Sunday but I found it. Ended up ordering the shrimp remoulade and a cocktail. Both were excellent! The shrimp was among the best I've had in New Orleans in quite some time. The chow chow really stood out, the tomatoes were perfectly cooked as were the shrimp. Sorry I didn't take pictures. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great place with great prices. I will be back.

Getting involved with the New Orleans Chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier had been a wonderful way to learn about the city, and the amazing culinary finds that are tucked away on every street that we have wandered down. Sylvain was one of those special finds. They generously donated a raffle to the recent Hot Dish event that the Dames were hosting, and luckily for me, one of my friends won it! What a treat it was to discover and dine at this local spot. We loved our waiter who gave us wonderful recommendations, didn't rush us, and let us have a perfect evening with great friends, cocktails and food. Everything we ordered was cooked just as we wanted it, and we had no problem making the vegetarian in the group happy and well fed as well. Thank you Sylvain for a wonderful evening, and for supporting Les Dames d'Escoffier. I can't wait to go back!

Went for Sunday brunch with our dog and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating despite us not having a reservation. They gave our dog a water bowl and some love. The cornbread and specially the butter is amazing. The Green Tomato BLT is great but it is an open faced sandwich so prepare for some messiness.

Great food here! My wife had the burger (super tasty), and I had the potato chip crusted drum (basically the best "fish and chips style" fish I've had in a long time). We visited on a Saturday night, and it was quiet and not busy. This place is sort of tucked away in an area sufficiently far enough from the "party area" to be low-key and out of the way. Service was perfect, as was the general ambiance. We'll be back when we return to N.O.

I'm late to the party with this review, but do yourself a favor and go to Sylvain if you're in New Orleans. Unfortunately, we didn't think this through properly so we ended up going as a second brunch. We will definitely be back for dinner because rumor has it, it's fantastic. Brunch: Sylvain burger, grits topped with lump crab meat, and grilled octapus with a rapini confit. I'm not sure if they have the octapus anymore, but HOLY SMOKES we were so full and satisfied. We couldn't leave a bite behind. The atmosphere is beautiful, inside and out. Classic New Orleans. Located right in the French Quarter. 10/10 recommend. We will be back for dinner in the near future.
