Pollard's

These reviewers are crazy. That or they grew up in a household where whoever was cooking (mom, grandma I'm talking about you lol) didn't know what the hell they were doing. They obviously don't know better. I got to the Ballentine location 45 minutes before closing. About 7 other people were in there waiting. I ordered a 8pc dinner, mac and cheese and string beans and 2 orders of bread pudding since these reviewers raved about this place. My order was a whopping $37. The chicken wasn't cooked to order, and not flavorful. The chicken didn't look or taste good. The Mac and cheese wasn't baked. Fine, budget mac and cheese but, it was soggy (overcooked pasta) and watered-down cheesy. The green beans were were overly dosed in smoke-meat flavoring but no meat to be seen. None of this is quality soul food. And the puffs? You gotta be kidding me. People get excited about getting BS-ed. It a deep-fried can biscuit folks. Too many better options around town including fast food.

This was my first time eat at a Pollard's Chicken. Went to the location on Ballentine Blvd in Norfolk, VA. The food was better than I imagined. Especially their homemade chicken & dumplings. Omg, it's better than Chick-fil-A. You can dine in or carry out for lunch or dinner. As their slogan says, they do have the best chicken around.

In my opinion Pollard’s serves the best chicken in the Hampton Roads area, but today I had their Friday special the fish dinner. The combo comes comes with two pieces of fish, two hush puppies, two sides, and one puff. There’s always a bit of a small wait, but the food is always served hot and it has never been disappointing.

Forgive if I’m writing this review for wrong location but if am if you respond with correct location I’ll update my review food truck @nnsy fries where so oily couldn’t eat last time gizzards where cooked in old oil they where harder then passing I anti hate law for African Americans they are more miss then hit but with such a short lunch I settled definitely wouldn’t recommend
