Canal Ritz

We just held an afternoon baby shower for about 40 people in the beautiful glassed-in dining area of the Canal Ritz. At 9am when we showed up for decorating the room, all the tables were perfectly set and the owner was on site. During the party, service was impeccable and the food (including the pizzas) was delicious and beautifully presented. This venue with a great view is the best for lunch, dinner and parties!

This restaurant was really busy and not as tasty as u would think for the outrageous prices. Came in as a group of 13 and my husband had made surprise bday reservations. We were put in centre of traffic inside and put three tables together blocking the walkway and being intruded on constantly . Was not that great tbh. Especially as they were not prepared and didn’t properly host our group! The view I must say is beautiful thou during the night and day!

Such a lovely spot, great for drinks and dessert while biking the canal. We ordered key lime pie, a pina colada, and a strawberry daiquiri. Everything was delicious and refreshing, and now we definitely want to go back for a meal next time! Staff were friendly and the patio space on the water was just gorgeous!

The only reason this gets 2 stars and not one is because they have a nice functional water fountain with cold water in front of the restaurant that I use on my running route! I don’t have any photos of the restaurant because 2 two meals I had there over the last 20 years were monumentally dreadful and the only other redeeming quality of the place is its proximity to the Flora Footbridge that makes for great photos!

This was my second experience at this restaurant. First order was a shrimp and scallop pasta dish, slightly bland sauce and the scallops were overcooked, but the pasta was fresh. Second order was a pear and brie pizza, slightly larger cuts than expected But absolutely delicious, with a chicken Caesar, Which was actually an error in the order (I ordered it with no meat). So unfortunately a lot of this salad was thrown away. The owner did offer to provide a free dessert To compensate. Prices slightly higher than expected. Excellent service And staff.
