Purinsu Ramen

The takoyaki was very good, hard to mess up though. The ramen was alright. I had the normal tonkotsu and I found it a bit wanting. The broths body was Ok, was in desperate need of salt. The ramen also came with fish balls, which weren't bad but felt a bit out of place. The ajitama was good, and the chashu was actually great. It was juicy, tender, and had a great charred flavor.

We just got our first order from Purinsu Ramen, delivered by GrubHub. First of all, we were pleasantly surprised that a restaurant located in downtown Princeton (Whitherspoon St) would deliver to Hamilton. Kudos for that! The food ranged from very good to amazing. Our appetizers, specifically steamed gyoza with shrimp, Kani salad, and baby octopus salad, were all good, with Kani salad easily being the best one among dozens and dozens of them I had in the past. However, the size of my Kani salad was also exceptionally miniscule, about 30% less than a normal size Kani salad served in the area. Both our ramen choices were truly amazing. My Chicken Shoyu Ramen, with pork, and optional mushroom wood ear, boiled egg and bamboo was an honest 5-star dish. My wife's Spicy Kimchi Vegetable Ramen (with custom additional toppings such as spinach, bamboo and mushroom wood ear) was equally great. The ramen dishes come in two containers, one with liquid, and the plate with the main ingredients. Super simple to make. We will definitely order again, probably this upcoming Friday.

Purinsu is legit, and seems to gear more towards traditional Japanese dishes. We got a couple appetizers to share: the takoyaki (which was HEAVENLY) and agedashi tofu, which I would say were the highlights of the meal. The mini curry chicken bowl was so, so good - filling and warm with a little spice to it. The miso ramen was also good, but I thought the broth was a little mild and generally unremarkable. I think sharing some stuff is the way to go here.
