Recommend: #4 siu Mai, #12 steamed tri-buns (1 chicken, 1 BBQ pork, 1 egg yolk), #21 deep fried eggplant Avoid: #36 rice rolls wrapped in Chinese donut (the donut was clearly not fresh and rock hard), #1 dumpling with seafood aka koon tong gao (broth was bad with no seafood or umami taste, pure salt, and the insides of dumpling was a big chunk of flour/shrimp that didn't resemble anything like a typical koon tong gao) Overall, worth a try to see which dimsum are good. Price is on the lower end compared to other places in Richmond nowadays.

We went there because someone online said this restaurant provides big portion and authentic Cantonese food. Food was OK, not that impressive. The beef amount was quite disappointing in a big dish. Liked the clean table cloth and utensils. The taller one of the waiters was quite rude. He arrived late (we got there at 5pm right after they opened for dinner) and began to talk to us while putting on his uniform. No smile or courtesy at all. He pulled a chair from the table close to ours and started to write down our order on the table. He didn’t put the chair back and it was later put back by another waiter. You could hear the taller guy clearly yelling loudly to his co-worker in the back and complained about him. The co-worker was actually quite nice to all customers and unfortunately might be his apprentice. When the third waiter brought me the credit card machine for me to pay, I believe I heard him reminding me to pay for tips on the machine. Unbelievable!

Dragon Group Seafood Restaurant is located on the busy corner of Alderbridge and Garden City Road in Richmond – and I’ve got to say, they have a really confounding parking lot – I kept driving around trying how to find how to get into the parking lot before figuring out I had to enter from the backside (that’s why she said). When we finally managed to get into the restaurant, I didn’t start off with high hopes because the place seemed small and the tablecloths seemed to have seen better days. Thankfully, the food actually turned out better than I expected. The Steamed BBQ Pork Buns ($6.98) weren’t very saucy on the inside but the bbq pork filling was nice and tender (with some fatty bits too). The Stuffed Eggplant came out nicely with a light and crisp exterior but with the eggplant turning out nice and tender. We also ordered the Rice Rolls with Crispy Bean Curd and Fish Paste ($7.88). Is it me or am I seeing this dish pop up in more places now? This turned out really good with tender fish paste and a very subtle crisp to the bean curd sheet. The Beef Balls with Tangerine Peel ($6.88) turned out pretty good too. We originally wanted to order their country style vermicelli but they said that they were having a special on crab for the same price so we did that instead. Let me tell you, this Crab with Country Style Vermicelli ($19.88) is a pretty good price. Sure, the crab is on the smaller side but this dish was very flavourful and the crab was super fresh. I could literally suck the meat out of the shells without using a cracker. Speaking of which, they didn’t give us a crab cracker (or wet napkins). We went with the ginger and green onion sauce and it was perfection. And bonus that the innards under the shell were good as well. We finished off our dim sum with the Truffle Siu Mai ($7.88) which turned out nicely as well with relatively large and plump dumplings. Overall, most of the food dishes here were really on point.

We kept driving by this restaurant every week so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Service was great, prices were good and the food tasted very fresh. Only complaints were that chicken feet was dry, with almost no sauce on the plate and the ribs were tough and chewy. They seems to have a lot of return customers as the waiters seems to know most of them by name. I would definitely come back again June 30/19 - Decided to give them a try for dinner. Really happy that dinner is just as good as their dim sum. Service is good and waiters are friendly. Only downside is that they are overpriced for what you are getting. We ordered 3 dishes and our bill was over $100 including tips. Feb 22/20 - We went back for dim sum and found they had change ownership. The food is still pretty good and the they were offering 20% discounts until noon. They aren't as busy as they use to be, and all they old waiters were all gone. Service definitely wasn't as good as they once was.

I'm very impressed with Dragon Group. I came here with a big group and they were very accommodating. The food was top notch and I was specifically impressed by the pork belly. The service was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant looks great and it was a very comfortable setting. The prices were very reasonable and for that reason we will be back for sure.
