Evie's Bistro And Bakery

Fantastic food and friendly service at this small bistro on a quiet residential street. Easy parking out front and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. Prices are quite reasonable and the menu has a whole vegetarian section. The key lime pie was the best I've ever had, and the portion was more than generous. What a local gem!

You want to order this cake. I chose this bakery sight unseen and without a taste test. I ordered a sheet cake in Lemon Chiffon on a Tuesday and it was ready on Friday. The zest in the lemon is perfect. The cake is fluffy. The icing is creamy. It definitely will feed the amount of people suggested and the price is by far better than any other bakery in Roanoke. I’ve tried cakes and cupcakes throughout the town and THIS PLACE beats them ALL. Everyone of the party attendees asked for the name and phone number of this place. It’s absolutely phenomenal.

Evie's is a hidden gem in Southwest Roanoke. I was greeted upon entry by a sweet server named Madelyn (spelling? ). I had the burger special with pasta salad and cole slaw. It was all perfectly seasoned and delicious! The owner (I presume) came in while I was eating. She was smiling and welcoming. I bought a reasonably priced cake or my daughter's birthday as well. Will return again soon.

First a quick note on the restaurant before I rave about their wedding cakes -- This is one of my new Roanoke favorites. Its cute, its hip, it gives you a chance to get into Roanoke city, the food is great, and you can eat gourmet cake by the slice! I no longer live in Roanoke, but this is my go-to to meet friends every time I am back! Now onto the wedding cake -- If you want world-class cake for your wedding, look no further than Evie. We got a 3-tier cake with Marie Antoinette (raspberry) and Lemon Chiffon. We ordered a lot of extra cake (COVID wedding, not many came...) and we RAN OUT. As the Bride, I only got a quick bite during the cake cutting and no more. Many guests had a slice of each, many saying that they usually don't even like wedding cake, but that they cannot determine which of ours is the best because it was so delicious. I also want to comment that our wedding cake looked like a dream! It came out exactly as I had described to Evie and I could not be happier with the photos. It may look like a stock cake I found on google, but nope, that is the real cake we had in our September wedding at Big Spring Farm in Lexington! We had our florist leave her some flowers to put into the cake and Evie may have outdone our florist! Evie was easy to work with. She is so professional but also so nice. I would highly recommend her to everyone having any event anywhere in the area.
