The Quarter

We visited on a Saturday for lunch. We were one of three tables. Our server was nice and attentive. She treated us well and was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is nice. The food left a lot to be desired. The Cajun Popcorn - fried crawfish tails - was good, but most of the pieces were small and mostly breading. The larger pieces were nice. The hush puppies were overcooked and difficult to eat. One of us ordered the gumbo, it left much to be desired when wanting an authentic Cajun dish and was barely warm. The proportion was inadequate for the cost. It came with a biscuit that I'm pretty sure was a popular frozen brand. One of us ordered Cajun meatloaf and it was okay, but lukewarm as well. One of us ordered the Cajun fried chicken and it was left in the fryer to long and overcooked. Two of us got the macaroni and cheese substituted for our side as they were out of the collards that normally come with the meals. The macaroni and cheese had spoiled and was unpleasant for the one of us that took a bite. Besides the service, the best part of the meal was the Crystal Louisiana Hot Sauce. We bought two unopened bottles to take home.

Ordered through a delivery service last week and the food was delicious. The pork chops were seasoned well, juicy and tender. The dinner included mashed potatoes with gravy and collard greens that were amazing. I don't usually eat cooked greens from any restaurant but they came with my dinner so I tried them. They definitely tasted like someone spent some time on them and cooked them to perfection.

We visited during Roanoke Restaurant Week, and had a very good experience here. The Bourbon Glazed Salmon was delicious, as were the cheese mashed potatoes. Bananas Foster was dessert and we enjoyed it. They offer several New Orleans type cocktails, which are fun. Service was good, and the restaurant has a nice ambiance about it.

My meal was good, he were my husband's not so much. It's crazy to only get 3 pieces of shrimp and 3 oysters with your oil saturated fish and make that meal the same price as scallops, which was one of the highest priced meals. 1st time customer. The crab appetizer was good tho. May jus order the appetizer to go next time.

So everytime we come here I feel like I am a hassle to the servers. Today we went outside although there was noone to greet us at the door and the girl rudely said someone needed to seat us? Then we normally sit up top because we are forced there, we were basically told that that wasnt happening becuase the people in the office building didnt want people up there. She actually said that she didnt work here when we questioned her. Also its saturday. Next the same girl that sat us sat up there with other employees and drank and smoked. I love the location but feel like the staff needs a full turn. I encourage the owner to contact me. I manage people and this is not what I call good customer service. This all being said I still like the establishment but would question the staff's capabilities. Also see the mule mug my drink was served in. Looks like the staff's attitudes.
