Chuan Ma Noodle House

This place can look a bit intimating to walk into...perhaps, it's the lighting? Perhaps, it's the lonely worker reading newspaper in the middle of the restaurant? Perhaps, its the little kids watching videos on their laptop at another table? Don't be intimated like I was where I walked by it twice before heading in...it was well worth it! I gave it a three star because their Hokkaido milk tea lacked quality. Their milk tea was ice blended, cool. But when you add ice into an ice blended drink, not cool! It just feels like you're getting cheated, yea? I went with the safe bet and ordered the #1 on their menu, beef noodle soup! You can tell em' how spicy you want it and I would definitely recommend ordering it with the cut noodles (additional charge). The dish overall came out a bit over $8. It's a little pricey for beef noodle soup, but it's the best one I tried in the Rowland Heights area. Would I come back to satisfy my beef noodle craving? Yes please! The restaurant seems to be geared towards spicy dishes. The table next to me ordered dry chili pot where there's a variety of meats you can choose from. It's definitely something I would want to try when I come back with a bigger party next time. The service was eh! They were nice, but disorganized. The staff seemed like they were never properly trained how to serve tables, see for yourself! They never refilled my water and my cup was TINY. Perhaps, they should have a station, so customers can refill their own water. The place seems like a legit traditional spicy Chinese restaurant. If you're in the mood for spice, go to Chuan Ma!
