Sidney Street Cafe

We visited a few weeks ago and decided to go a second time to celebrate my birthday tonight. On our first visit, we had the most lovely server, Mary, who reported to us that this was one of her first nights doing this on her own after being mentored by another server. Mary literally had the menu and every detail memorized. Her delight was evident as she explained every menu item so thoroughly it didn't take us long to agree to try the raviolo (and boy, oh boy, did I hope for that again tonight, but alas, it's off the menu---for now). Also, note that both the lobster turnovers and veal dumplings are top notch. Tonight, our service was also excellent and the food just as fantastic: beignets to die for, smoked chicken and kale pasta so rich and thick you'll want to swipe your beignets through the bowl before they take it away, a new pasta creation with crab and lemon that made you slow down and really savor...the dark chocolate turtle brownie was an excellent finish. Through our meal, I was trying to remember Mary's name and kicking myself that I hadn't written this sooner when I happened upon her holding two martini glasses on her way to another table. I stopped her, told her she was a wonderful server and the raviolo was the best thing I'd had, asked her her name, and then came home to write this review. Sidney Street Cafe, I'll be back again and again. DELICIOUS.

Was able to make same day reservations for my group of six this past weekend and we had the best experience. All of the food was phenomenal and our server was exceptional and made excellent recommendations. Our favorites were the lobster turnovers, venison dumplings, and duck sausage pasta. Highly recommend reservations.

We had the most special evening at Sidney Street! We lived in the neighborhood 20 years ago and we have had many great memories and meals here. We made it back last night for a nostalgic meal. Everything was just perfect down to the last detail. The iconic chalkboard menu, featuring the lobster turnovers was STILL here! Our server Alyssa was the sweetest and had an amazing friendly way about, so helpful and she sent over the nicest surprise at the end of the meal, The comfy atmosphere, the vibey energy, the exquisite food and the chic drink menu and the fabulous wine selection all make Sidney Street a FAVORITE that has stood the test of time. Thank you THANK YOU ! We will be back sooner than 20 years 💓🌟🙌🏻

This was one of the best places I have ever been. The food was absolutely top notch and the service was fantastic. The kale and smoked chicken rigatoni was simply amazing. The halibut was fantastic too, as was the awesome beef cheek with parsnip puree. This was followed by some amazing desserts, my favorite being a phenomenal macaroon. What an amazing night, and this place played a huge part in that.

I haven't ever done this, but I liked it so much, I went back the next night to eat there again! If you can, get their tartare, and order the polenta with whatever else is going to make you happy. Either (or both) salad and soup (creamy and flavorful squash soup! Amen!) will make you glad you chose them. The brisket is smoky and falls apart in the very best way. The scallops are tender and tasty. The dessert items and accompanying libations are a wonderful and worth it splurge. On your own, or a small party without a reservation? Try sitting at the bar, where the bartenders are ready with interesting conversation and insightful menu suggestions. 11/10 on a scale of 10.
