Moms Soul Food Kitchen

The mac & cheese, candy yams, and fish were really good! Greens were fine but needed a little salt. The chicken needed more seasoning and breading. I got my food to-go and drove 4 mins away to union station and when I parked to eat, my fries are extremely soggy, undercooked, and lacked seasoning. I always enjoy doing business with older people. They seem to take customer interactions more seriously. The hostess was younger and stayed on her phone in a group text the whole time. I was the first person through the door to place an order. She kept pausing me and giving me no acknowledgment so she could text right in the middle of me placing my order. She was sweet and very respectful but it was obvious she was preoccupied. The hostess also told a group of 5 young people that it would be a 15 min wait to be set at the empty bar or 30 min wait for a table because they were waiting on a server. The group said they’d wait outside for the bar. Then the hostesses filled up the bar with many groups of people who came afterwards. When the 15 mins was up, the young lady came back in and asked how everyone was sitting at the bar they were waiting for. (There was literally not 1 seat left). They did nothing to resolve this and the group of 5 left. None of it was intentional, it just seems a little unorganized. I do love and support my people. I would still highly recommend this restaurant. Looking forward to trying other foods from here.

They catered my sister's graduation dinner and when I tell you I devoured everything like it was my last meal, went for seconds and took home a plate. Woowee, it was really good. They really put a lot of love into the food and the setup. The greens were seasoned to perfection, the fish, the muffins... everything. This is soul food, you know because my soul was fed. I didn't try the shrimp and grits.

I have been eating food from here since they’ve opened! I’ve actually never dined inside so I have no idea how the customer service is but I have nothing bad to say about this food. Definitely the BEST Soul food in St. Louis and so happy their still around! Not everyone can make collard greens but they can! The portions are so delicious! And the freshly squeezed watermelon lemonade is also super delicious! I love eating here highly recommend if you’re ever in or love in St. Louis- Happy Thanksgiving 🍁

I called in my order and the woman on the phone was very pleasant. When I picked it up customer service was great they were so nice ! And it smells amazing in the restaurant so I was excited to try something new as I’m new to the area. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and was falling off the bone so good Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes and like heaven you got to eat them together ! All around it was a good experience I will be back to try more !
