Sun Sushi

Wouldn't you agree this is the best sushi place in town? This is not a fancy restaurant, but their service and food are great given the price and location. All the rolls I have tried so far were decent if not great, and other menus such as salmon or chicken teriyaki were pretty good too. Definitely returning to try some more.

I guess this place is a local favorite, but it isn't anything special. - Rice was mushy. - California rolls used a lot of mayo with imitation crab. - Red dragon roll has too many sauces and flavors. - Spider roll was just okay. I've had better for half the price. That might be due to inflation, maybe. - Salmon nigiri was very good. Big pieces. - Engawa was really good as well. - gyoza was good. They had a new sushi chef and he messed up our order a bit. The mushy rice really ruined it for me, but kid and wife didn't really notice. 3 and a half stars

Best sushi I have had in Santa Barbara in a while! The salmon 6-ways was delicious. I didn't take many photos because I couldn't wait to enjoy my order. We sat at the bar - the Japanese sushi chefs were very busy, yet still very attentive. The staff was very friendly. The choices of fresh fish were varied and well selected.

Damn good delicious tasting sushi. Teriyaki Chicken was bland and the meat was not top of line; otherwise would have rated a 5 star. We love the Mexican Sushi, Crunchy Roll, Jalapeno, Mixed Tempura, and the sashimi. Was really impressed with the girth of the Tuna Sashimi. Seaweed salad was awesome. Overall very delicious experience. Dining outside available. COVID19 protocols respected. Service with masks and gloves. However, gloves should be changed often because after a while the gloves look filthy. Give this place a try!
