Wake Cup

Dirty environment. Last time I visited I couldn't help but be put off by the collection of filth under the equipment behind the register. While I witnessed employees doing there best to clean up spills they neglected to clean under the large metal equipment. I doubt their efforts could remove what looks like years of neglect. They'd probably have to replace the flooring to even remotely clean this area. Additionally the equipment the employees used looked filthy itself, concerning me over the true quality of cleanliness that their efforts could achieve in the areas they can reach to clean. The place is always packed which surprises me as the quality of milk tea is lacking. I hear the chicken is good, but from what I've seen the product is nothing like what is advertised on the menu. The boba itself is hit or miss, somedays it's perfect and others it's burnt. I'm not sure what they use in brewing the tea but I've become ill multiple times after consuming the product, once throwing up before I was able to leave the store having to run outside quickly to avoid causing another mess for the staff to clean. My experience with the staff has been alright. They're often friendly. My order is usually what I place, except for one time in which a male staff member incorrectly prepared my order which I didn't notice till after I had already left. With plenty of places in IV that have Boba I would absolutely recommend going elsewhere. The service is the only quality component at Wake Cup. Cleanliness and product are low quality, and advertisement on the menu is completely inaccurate.

Seems very hard to find good boba around here in Santa Barbara. Sadly, I felt the same way about Wake Cup. The drinks were pricy for the quality you're getting. Drinks were absolutely terrible. They use powdered flavoring and the boba itself doesn't cut it. Better luck finding decent bubble tea down south.
