Cupcake Royale - Queen Anne

** BUSINESS IS CLOSED NOW *** Review from February 2019: Every now and zen, you have to forget the diet. You're not going to look like those people on the treadmill on TV, let's face it. So go to cupcake royal and enjoy life! The strawberry cheecake cupcakes---OMG delicious. Spendy. Worth it. Try to keep it to a dozen a week--if you can... Very friendly staff and always eager to tell you the company's history. Espresso and inside dining also.

Picked up a couple dozen of their assorted boxes this morning. Loved all of their flavors! They also offer gluten free and vegan options as well. Some of the favorites were the Tiramisu and Buttercream. The shop also has a number of great coffee options including cold brew and a specialty honey lavender latte.

I'm a Seattle native but haven't ever been to Cupcake Royale or had one of their cupcakes. I'm disappointed. I got a four pack and the cupcakes tasted stale. The cake crumbled all over and the frosting wasn't fresh. It had a hard layer similar to pudding skin, which I haven't ever experienced on freshly frosted items. Maybe there's a better day or time to purchase from here when the items are fresh. We were at least kind of happy with the one red velvet cupcake we got. The salted caramel one was like a salt lick. Way too salty :( I bought cupcakes from CR thinking they'd taste better than if I made them on my own and that it'd be a slightly fancy treat to give. I was left feeling unimpressed and embarrassed with my gift. Now I know why my boyfriend was so willing to share these with me. At least they looked good!! Update June 2018 - ordered a couple of these individually from the Met Market and they tasted so much better. I wonder if it's because they were stored differently? This time they were moist (the cake and frosting)! 🙌

If you have not had a Sprinke Party there - you are missing out on a lot of fun. The staff gracefully tolerated a group of 7 year olds (mostly boys). It was 90 minutes of pure fun.All adults enjoyed it as well. Thank you QA Cupcake Royale! All the kids are now officially qualified to decorate their own Birthday Cakes for years to come :-)!

The cupcakes are always delicious; there are some stock flavors, but they always have some different seasonal flavors and some new ones, as well as variations on a theme. You could find chocolate, pumpkin spice, red velvet, or red-white-and-blueberry. Magic milk shakes made from the same flavor of ice cream. VB There are several locations around Seattle.
