Tea Garden

Since this place changed from the Vietnam Pearl restaurant to Tea Garden (totally new ownership) years ago, we've tried this place a couple of times and all I can say is that they're consistently terrible. Grungy decor, plates somewhat dirty, and food not great. I question their food handling practices when everything else they do and show in the restaurant is so gross.

Visiting seattle. After a long trip I didnt want to leave my hotel room, so I ordered delivery. Bought some cheese wontongs, some eggplant, and some mixed vegetables with steak. They brought a lot of food. The steak was juicy and the eggplant and vegetables fresh and tasty. The wontongs tasted fine, but when I bit into one, I found the tip of a hair. I could get over that, maybe, but when I pulled it out of my food, it was totally a pubic hair. Totally disgusting. I understand getting a piece of hair that falls of your head, but a pubic hair? I wish I hadnt eaten any of the food. Just makes you wonder where the chefs hands have been. Ive never written a review, but this was enough to make me go through the trouble to write one. Thats what I get for ordering junk food. I called them up and told them what happened and to be careful. They said thanks.

In opposition to most of the reviews here, this place I find to be great... It is family-run which I always like to support and over the last 4 years I have probably eaten here hundreds of times.. I have tried most of the dishes on the menu, and have found all but 2 to be great.. The food is always fresh, and not over-laden with unhealthy sauces.. Being a white guy in town, my Chinese friends brought me here.. The place can seat well over 100 people, and on the weekends it is always packed.. Usually by Chinese families.. I would definitely say give this place a shot, and don't just go off of some of these customers who had a bad experience...
