Madame Fan

Visited Madam Fan. Visited for dinner so sadly no dim sum. Seating and ordering was very professional and efficient. Ordered the king prawn, rib eye, salt and pepper squid and fried rice. The food came out staggered so you are drip feed. The food is pretty reasonable. Not brilliant but not bad. Generally well seasoned. Ordered the mango sago and sesame balls for dessert and both were just OK. Odd thing about this place is it took about 30mins of time to request for the bill to payment. Disappointing end to the night.

Food was good, they have an extensive menu and lots of interesting fusion dishes. Great food but that’s what you would expect given the price point. Would go back again if I’m around the area, ambience is a plus as it has a very classy Chinese lounge kinda feel. Service was a tad slow but could be due to the festive peak season, but service staff was really attentive and friendly!

Loving the gorgeous luxe decor and comfortable seating very much. Do take note that it is not wheelchair accessible from the ground level as there are steps required into the building. I felt that the service staff could do better to introduce the menu, as all they did was ask us if we were ready to order and it was tough figuring out the options in the menu. The staff also accidentally poured some liquid over me, I am surprised they only provided a wet towel and that was it. A huge extensive menu. Loving the dim sum items though a little pricey. If you select correctly, some of the dishes are not overly expensive. The winning dishes for me are the - fried prawn dumpling, duck & pumpkin puff, salt-baked chicken (could do with more soaking time), and the beef horfan. The salt and pepper squid had huge potential but needed more spice. I think overall the food could do with a bit of more boldness in the flavour as it had done with the decor. I would be back again coz it’s such a comfortable and luxurious place to have a meal, and food on the overall is generally good.

****** Drinks: I usually only come here for drinks and snacks, and love coming here because the space is so beautifully designed and sleek. You feel like you're transported back to old Shanghai and it's particularly lovely with live music. Drinks here are great, and I've always enjoyed bringing my friends over here. The service is impeccable and the staff are so attentive, they even gave me and my friend shawls one day because we got caught in the rain and were cold. This was something really kind, and a gesture that keeps guests coming back. I do hope they rotate the drinks a tad to make things a little more exciting though! I've just about ordered almost everything on the drinks menu! And while they are all lovely, it will be nice to have some variety. ****** Takeaway: This Lunar New Year (we couldn't eat out due to Covid restrictions in place), my family ordered the Peng Cai from Madame Fan, and we were really impressed with the quality of the food! The broth was so flavourful! The staff were highly professional and helped us to find out how long we can possibly keep the Peng Cai for and how to store it for our reunion dinner. It was really appreciated they went the extra mile for this. In the end, we went to pick it up personally rather than opt for delivery to keep the Peng Chai as fresh as possible. Big thank you to the staff again for their assistance on this!

I tried the ultimate dim sum lunch set. The restaurant is beautiful, the owners have put a lot of work into it and the vibes are like a high end private club in China. The service is top notch - attentive, polite, professional. I would give 5 stars for these two factors alone. Unfortunately, the quality of the dim sum didn't match the 5 star service and 5 star ambiance. My friends and I were quite disappointed and all agreed that there are much better dim sum joints around at more affordable prices. I would love to visit again if the food was improved to the same standard as the service.
