This is one of the few Chinese restaurants with two Michelin stars. The meal is delicious. We ordered Peking duck and several other dishes were delicious. The environment is clean and tidy with a magnificent high roof, the only downside is that the restaurant is slightly understaffed due to the spaciousness of the space. Not immediate in service. Waiting time for food is a little longer 。 But the attitude is still very good. This is our favorite restaurant。

This is a Michelin 2 star restaurant for good reason. The Szechuan style food is delicious! We had a vegetarian meal with Hot and sour soup, two varieties of dumplings, mapo tofu and stewed Japanese eggplant with spicy garlic sauce, followed by mango pudding. The ambience is beautiful and the service very warm and friendly. We had a relaxed lunch here. Highly recommended.

A gentrified way of eating Szechuan cuisine. I felt the food didn’t have the spicy kick as the dishes were relatively muted. Otherwise a very grand restaurant to go with gorgeous lamps that frames the entire restaurant. It’s a place to enjoy the ambience. Mobility access: You have to climb up and down 2 flights of stairs to the main dining area. They offer a service lift for those who can’t do stairs however do be prepared to wait for the lift.

For a 2 Michelin star restaurant, I honestly expected much more out of a Sichuan restaurant. Especially with the funkiness behind a Japanese chef doing sichuan food. But, wasn't getting much of that specialty out of my dining experience. Food is generally alright, and good for what they're serving. Some Japanese ingredients used, some Japanese spices added. Their Chen's mapuo doufu, and the eggplant, were good, but I've had better elsewhere. Their specialty noodles were good, but I've also had better elsewhere. Service was surprisingly average to say the least. I've been to Michelin star restaurants with much better service. Even other normal Chinese restaurants have better service somehow! Last but not least, the steps. Uncontrollables, but mann the stairs will be a huge problem for old folks and those that are less mobile. Stairs to get to the dining area, and stairs to get to the washroom, and stairs to get out. Problematic for big family dinners. But good for business meetings with their private rooms separate from the main floor.

Nice decor. Had a weekday dinner with their tasting menu. Service standard somewhat lower than when I visited a year ago. Pacing of dishes uneven with initial dishes timed far apart then subsequent ones rushed. Food was top notch though. Lovely nuanced spiciness and flavours of Szechuan cuisine, interpreted Japanese style. Felt the foie gras chawanmushi with crab roe, steamed sea perch with yellow peppers, and of course mapo tofu was fantastic.

Terrifically well priced for what is a 2-Michelin star restaurant. While this may not be as ‘authentic’ sichuan food as compared to some other restaurants that may be on offer, this certainly does cater to many palettes. The numbing spice is not overpowering, the flavours well balanced and tasty. Slightly over ordered, and may have skipped on their signature sautéed deep fried chicken (was fairly good but not outstanding). The wagyu beef with Japanese peppers was also fairly average. Otherwise the dishes were terrific!

Been wanting to visit Shisen Hanten for the longest time, and was glad to finally make it for lunch this week. What stood out for me was the great ambience and impeccable service, with the managers and wait staff constantly checking on us and making sure our teacups were never less than half full. I would love to just sit here, drink tea and chat the whole afternoon. The business set lunch at $42 ($50 for 2 mains) offers great value, although I feel that it may not be truly representative of Sichuan cuisine. Having said that, it does provide diners who are new to Sichuan cuisine with an opportunity to try some of the better known items alongside some more familiar local tastes. The soup of the day was a local style ABC soup and was great. Of the mains we tried, the Steamed Sea Perch, Sautéed Wagyu Beef, and Sautéed Kurobuta Pork were excellent. We did not like the Stir-fried Prawn done “Chili Crab” style with a fried mantou as much, so this was a miss for us. Between the Mapo Tofu with rice and Dan Dan noodles, I would go for the former which packs more of a punch for me. Overall, I would say 4.5 stars for ambience and service, and 3.5 stars for food. Will come back another time and try the ala carte menu. Tip: for those looking to take some nice instagram worthy pics, do ask for a table closer to the chandeliers.

Ambience Sat noon half empty restaurant Nice view if you’re at the window as it’s on the 35th floor of the mandarin galleria building. Service Beer ordered Have to remind after 10 min to which arrived in a min. So they forgot that. Tea refill at some time attentive. Other times not. Don’t really care about that. Mapo tofu served without the rice. Came a minute later. Of course not long but you are waiting for it so you can eat it together. Sort of the basics. Also make sure a dish is empty before removing or ask first. I hate to be critical at old aunties working. Food Sorry don’t know the dish names as I didn’t order for the table. Crispy chicken nice. Like a spicy ramen seasoned lol. Truffle mushroom with veggie. Real truffle grated at the table. Nice. Fish is good. I like how the servant split it up to small bowls for everyone. Fried rice I think good but more than half not finished. Mapo tofu. Good. Not best not worst. King pao chicken. Taste of pork or bacon? Possible pork grease. Not sure. More sweet than spicy. Didn’t like it. Fried cabbage dish meh. Mostly left there as well. Meal is not spicy at all imo so friendly in that respect or not authentic depends how you view. How to judge a place. Can’t complain about authenticity because “fusion” Next time I screw up a carbonara I’m gonna say “fusion” to my guests. Haha I think it’s place to bring a western guest you are trying to impress with the ambience decor white table cloth that has food that will not be spicy. Obviously paying for the ambience more than the food. Star rating based not considering it’s Michelin. Like a paradise dynasty etc. no real complaints but nothing that makes this feel like a Michelin at all. Saw a guy walk in with slippers which I mention because one review a lady was refused in because of slippers if I recall correctly.
