Komala's Restaurant

Actually the food at Komalas has always been very good but a week back I had a bad experience with takeaway from their Upper Dickson outlet. I ordered 2 packets of noodles, 1 veg manchurian and 2 dosas on a Sunday evening. The dosas were okay but the noodles were very badly prepared. There were barely any vegetables in it and it was extremely greasy. The noodles only had onions and a few slices of capsicum in it. I understand the restaurant might have been overwhelmed with orders but the price tag does not justify why the ingredients were cut short. For $8 a packet, I was basically served oily and bland noodles. If the management is reading this review, please look into this matter and brief your kitchen staff. Komalas standard is much better than this. Edit: I had to deduct one more star due to their horrible standard. I revisited Komalas on 9 May 2022’hoping that things would improve but I have decided to give up. I ordered Tahu Sambal and was served something totally different. To add on, my takeaway items were saturated with so much oil that I had to throw them away. Look at the pictures and decide for yourself. I hope the management takes action before its too late

Clean cosy place with an attached toilet. Great place for taking breaks in the midst of shopping. Tried food without onion and garlic. It tasted great. Peter and Ashim served me well. Visited this restaurant again on 14th October. Had Tomato uttapam and Plain Idli. Though it was very crowded and there was a queue for entering, manager managed it well. Though waiters Poonam,Sulakshana and Viraal must be very exhausted due to work load during Diwali season but they smiled and did a great job. Owner is friendly as well. He smiled and waved. We tried Idli, Uttapam, Samosa, Butter milk , Tofu platter and Daal on various occasions. It was crowded on Saturday 4th June ,when we visited again. New manager in yellow T,keeps his mask below nose and talks rudely. Thank you!!

Was a little hesitant before entering as there were no crowd. But the food was quite spicy and closer to the real Indian taste. Ordered Garlic Naan set and Paneer fried rice. The 3 curries served with Garlic Naan were good as well. The Badam milk was not so good, could be avoided. Paneer fried rice was the best we had and that really helped us enjoy the whole lunch experience here after shopping in Mustafa. Service - 3/5 Food - 4/5 Price - ok Overall - 4/5
