Bar On 5

Ths happy hour prices are insanely cheap for orchard - $5 for selected cocktails and wine. Indoors get a little noisy and the smell of the smokey whiskey (and maybe smoke??) May get a little overpowering. Outdoor seats are great with good view of paragon and ngee ann city. This is a great find, will be back!

This is the main lobby bar of the Mandarin Orchard. Located on level 5, right near the main checkin reception desk. The bar itself joins reception which is generally very busy, so probably not the spot for a quiet drink. However also has an excellent area beside the bar in its own enclosed room well away from busy reception. The bar has a great selection of drinks and fantastic service.

This is a pretty pricey bar... but if you have a group of friends and are coming back, then this may be a great choice. Pick up really good bottle deals of whiskey from around the world and anything you do not drink for up to 3 months for FREE. Dim, mood lighting inside, bartenders who have been there for over 25 years (ask them a thing or two about Singapore) and music with live DJs to keep the night alive. Very local crowd with some hotel guests thrown in for good measure. There is an "outside area" which is good for groups. During the day it is very quiet, and ideal for a business meeting.

The cool, low key ambience exuded coupled with the dark velvety lush setting of the place situated right at the middle of Orchard road provides the much-needed reprieve..away l from the maddening crowd anytime should I want. Attentive staff on your requests and the rarely practiced table arrangement that allow a generous amount of personal space between tables.. Feel like soaking in some sun, I can choose to sit the outdoor siting area, being spacious with decent fan ventilation.. The bar's evergreen crowd pleaser will be their pricing for their sale of whiskey usually either in 1 or of 3 bottles. Wide selection of premium labels offered at a steal.. The downer or rather a tip is try to avoid ordering the beers during non-happy hours or least check on the price first with the staff ..you wouldn't want that feeling of unfairness to creep into you:)
