Cedele

We have been long time fan of Cedele. Our family and friends love their cake, especially chocolate matcha cake and their all time favourite walnut carrot cake. I find their walnut fresh as compare to other bakery. I love the cheese cream that enhanced the overall taste. The chocolate matcha cake was bitter sweet which we really enjoyed very much. Cedele dishes are always healthy thats why we always visit whenever we pass by.

The slogan/motto of Cedele states: Eat Well. Be Well. Perhaps, the merchant and it's staff need to add a few more for themselves to act on: Serve Well! - One of the most ridiculous staff that one can experience. The staff uses the hand with glove for practically everything (without ever changing the gloves). She uses it to pack the sliced bread into the paper bag, operates the machines/equipment, handles the cash, drawers of the metal cabinet and what not. That's utterly gross and shows lack of hygiene. Perhaps, NEA would be very eager to do an inspection on this outlet. - Seems like patrons have difficulties in returning their trays and/or used table ware after consumption. And to make it worst, the staff couldn't careless about it, such disgusting sights are more often seen. Is it so difficult to place a label on the table requesting patrons to do the needful or educate them or patrons are expecting authorities to enforce the law in such eateries too? Do people need to wait for laws to be enacted for behaviors/attitudes/mindset to be moulded? If that's the case, have all basic values and table etiquette also gone for a complete lockdown?

I received my Mother’s Day cake from my kids as the pic show. Carrot cake Used to be our favorite but this order I am too disappointed. Never mind the cake arrive not in good shape, but the totally lack of sweetness and the stale of the nuts throws me off. I hope Cedele will start analyst the recipe.

After some shopping, just dropped by Cedele PP for tea. Wide selection of cakes. The middle-aged Chinese female staff (auntie) recommended their carrot cake and latte - a teatime offer. I ordered exactly what she recommended. Nice fresh cake and the latte was smooth too. Her work shift ended, said bye to her colleagues and as she stepped out, she saw me and still asked me how was the cake and if I liked it. I said it's good and thanked her. She was nice enough to tell me that she's finished her shift and had to leave, and told me to have a 'good evening and take care'. Simple yet sincere words like these can make one's day seem good.

Updated Dec 2021. Well organized for Covid, prompt service, good quality burgers and soups. Earlier review from 2018 - Seems like they have a new menu. Reasonable vegetarian options. Prices have inched up. Service was average. I didn't like that they began cleaning the tables and floors and serve the dishes at the same time!

Looking for something healthy. Instead of just having sandwiches, how about trying the dishes at Cedele. Expect a new menu that still conveys our dedication to using the finest ingredients to craft meals that will satisfy and nourish your body. Most of the mains are designed to be a protein paired brilliantly with grains or pasta. A choice of wholewheat spaghetti or linguine for their pasta dish. There’s always space for cakes 🍰 And Cedele is officially the best place for it.
