Food was great, service was fast and definitely one of my comfort food! The red garoupa was fresh, sweet and flaky and the soup gave it life again. The prawn rolls are one of the better ones and the sweet sauce complements the savoury taste. Can't wait for my next visit! It's a little pricey though, the steamboat was $45!

Small classic chinese style eating house. Serves up really good zi char and their signature fishhead steamboat. The fishhead broth is quite good. Ordered 1 with red garoupa. Fish meat really fresh and sweet. Just becareful of the amount of fish bones since it is the head portion. The zi char dishes did not pale in comparison. Ordered braised pig trotters, tofu in crab meat sauce, roasted chicken, ngoh hiang and clams. Recommended to make a reservation in advance as it gets crowded quickly due to the small capacity.

Visited this restaurant for a Xmas and Birthday meal after seeing it come up as one of the top fish head steamboat places 🍲 🐟 Ordered the batang fish for $50, was quite a let down in terms of the serving and taste of the broth, especially considering the price (could have gotten a full fish). 🍗 Crispy boneless chicken that has squid filling was decent, not too oily in general and was pretty good portion 🦑 Nyonya sotong was flavourful as well, very traditional taste that didn’t come with an overbearing coconut milk flavour “Da-bomb” was not exactly what the name suggests, it didn’t taste like much. Eggs were bland and pretty much like cotton candy without the sweetness of it, beancurd was okay with decent portion. Overall, I would not recommend nor return here, for the quality and definitely the price. 4 dishes for $120 is really steep for such standards. 😐

Pretty crowded place so expect to wait if you didn't make a reservation. Ordered the red snapper base for 3-4pax @ $55. Very nice and flavourful soup base. Also ordered prawn paste chicken, sambal nyonya squid and stir fried qinglong vegetable. All dishes were nice and came quickly. Especially liked the seasoning in the squid and the prawn paste chicken batter which was really fluffy and tasty

Whampoa keng offers set meals starting from $80 for two, which comprise fish head soup, prawn paste chicken, tofu andcrab meat as well as mango pudding. Could be the rain but i thought the fish soup was absolutely delish that day. The soup, which carried a subtle seafood taste, was light and sweetened by the grouper fish. Prawn paste chicken is fried to perfection. Meat was moist. Tofu is alright, itll be better if its was hotter.

Loving the fish head steam boat. The soup is awesome. The only reason for the 4 star n not 5 is the confusing q system outside they have, or if they even hav. (Update, just book before coming down)

Used to like it alot especially the claypot salted fish pork belly but it's no longer as good as it used to be. There is lack of salted fish fragrant in the dish. The recommended fried tofu is a missed, overly oily, couldn't finish it at all due to mouthful of oil in each bite. The fish steamboat was the saving grace for the stars. I had the grouper pot for 2 pax at $40, not the cheapest but the soup is comforting especially on rainy days.
