Tontei Pork Restaurant

This Japanese restaurant serves up yummy, wallet-friendly set meals. I celebrated a friend's birthday here. We ordered 2 hotpots namely beef Oknomi Shabu Shabu with tonkotsu (pork bone) broth and Volcano Nabe with pork and chicken collagen soup base. Each hotpot has a choice of soup base. I would recommend the Okonomi Shabu Shabu that is tasty and sweet. I added 2 chawanmusi (steamed egg custard with prawn, chicken and mushroom) for my friends who ordered hotpots. My beef steak donburi (rice bowl) comes with a miso soup. The beef is tasty but I would love them to add more. The restaurant seems a little short handed but the ambience is comfortable and welcoming. The lighting makes the menu looks very delicious. I would recommend this cozy place.

Nice and cosy Japanese restaurant in B1 of NEX mall. Good variety of food including tonkatsu, Shabu shabu, dons, appetisers and desserts. Food is tasty staff service is good. Price is very reasonable and portion is good. The pancake with bananas (fried banana and cut banana) and ice cream is really yummy.

There was nothing special about the place. Food was mediocre. Not good but not bad either. One thing the place is good at is the value for money. For so much, the price is very reasonable and there was no queue. I won't be coming back here unless someone specifically requests. There are nicer food to try even if the value for money factor is good.

Impressed with the tonkatsu and pork salad. Beef don was overcooked but we didn’t mind - it’s an easy fix at kitchen. miso soup a bit salty, sesame dressing for salad is thick, maybe too much. these are the only suggestions for improvements, otherwise well done! Overall seeing 4 star from pleasant customer service and favourable taste - matches the slight premium price. hope to return soon!
