Basil Thai Kitchen

I visit this place a couple of times in an year. The ambience is definitely a huge reason to visit - clean, happy and vibrant. The quality of the food can be vouched without any question. That being said, it’s altogether an “okay” fare. I generally consume vegetarian (and no mushroom and tofu, so limited menu options) so the Pineapple Rice is what I go for when I visit Thai food places, but the one served here is full of raisins (appx 35-40 pieces) with pineapple chunks served on the side making it a raisin rice more so than pineapple rice. Also, the prices seem to have gone up. We had 2 mains - 1 Green Chicken Curry and rice, 1 Pineapple Rice, and 2 Basil Lime Sodas, and it came to >$40.

Very nice food. Couldn’t taste the real signature dishes as we tried the especial promotion, which is fantastic if you like chilli 🌶 or not you can ask the waiter to cutdown the spiciness. There was a young waiter that seems not wanted to work that day, leaning on our table when asked questions, dropping things like he didn’t care. I actually didn’t account for this guy as a reflection of the restaurant, since there was an tall Indian guy, seems like the shift manager that serve us very good. These plates you can see here cost around S$50 total.

We tried the massaman curry, royal thali with olive rice as the main dish, chendol and basil mojito. The food was really delicious and service was good. Waitresses and waiters are nice and helped us make the right choice in order. We had to order extra paratha and plain rice to finish massaman curry ( portion size of curry is good but had to order extra paratha). For me they have the Best chendol in Singapore. Royal thali ( feast like royalty) was also very good. I highly recommend both royal thali and chendol. Price is high but the taste and service was worth it. We truly enjoyed the meal. 😊👍😊👏
