Gelare

Their plain waffle felt that it was too plain with a scoop of ice cream. For the price, maybe some icing sugar? Felt that it was too plain but the Choc-Oreo waffle was really good! Ordered a side of place water as it’s very sweet! I’ve cream selections are good. Plus, the seating area is very cramped up and could do a little bigger table.

Decided to give Gelare a go since it's half price on waffles on Tuesdays. I'm waiting for the waffle to be done but that's perfectly fine. I don't expect it immediately. But what I think could use improvement is the service. I had the misfortune of being attended to by this lady and it was evident that she was either jaded from serving customers the entire day or just had a rough day. Regardless, adopting the lackadaisical attitude towards customers doesn't bode well with an F&B outlet. As a single customer, I was asked to sit at a table which was used for storage (the view says it all). But in all honesty, it beats not getting a seat at all; so no qualms there. Maybe they could have stowed away the carton boxes better? But I won't know what logistical challenges they may be facing here so may not be fair of me to expect a clean dining environment. In conclusion, with this 15-min encounter, I've all but made up my mind to head home, dig up the vouchers I have for Gelare and rip them to bits. Just in case I happen to forget this sour episode in the near future. Unlikely, but I shall not take chances. Ps: food finally arrived after 20 mins.

We had always love the ice-cream waffles at Gelare. However, we were truly disappointed with the bad service at Gelare Causeway Point. I placed my order at the counter and the staff by the name of Manisah took my order. I told her I wanted vanilla ice cream for my waffle. She straightaway replied, “No vanilla. All the flavours are there,” with her turned-off expression looking towards the ice-cream showcase. She could have tell me nicely and even offered another flavour but she didn’t. Pls send your staffs to basic customer service training. This is an ice-cream and waffle restaurant. The ambience should be friendly and warm. This is not the service customers should be getting. I am truly disappointed, enuff said. 🙁

waited outside for 5-10mins for the staff to approach us before entering. however, one of staff who was preparing orders took a look at us and ignored us after finishing her duties on hand. the shop wasn't even packed ? everyone already had their orders and there are 1-2 empty tables i understand if there is a shortage of manpower but at least have the decency to acknowledge us or tell us to wait ? all we got was just a look from the nonchalant staff. even if the staff had a bad day or is jaded from work, it does not excuse her from her lackadaisical attitude
