Blooie's Roadhouse

Had dinner on Christmas Eve 2021. The eatery is dimly lit but I supposed with a bit of alcohol with that lighting, everyone looks gorgeous 😆 had half a pork knuckle and it was delicious. The skin was flavourful and crispy while the meat is tender and juicy. The cheese cake was light and paired well with a scoop of ice cream. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the price was reasonable.

Non-alcoholic drinks were ridiculously overpriced. Ordered a cranberry juice for $6, expecting a decent volume or at least quality at that price point, what came was a tiny tiny tiny cup with lots of ice + the “juice” you get from packeted syrup. So, not a great start. The burger was okay, but we were surprised they didn’t ask us for the doneness for the patty and what came was well-done - resulting in a rather dry mouthfeel. The eggs Benedict’s from the all-day breakfast menu was so-so. The special Blooie’s hash brown was repeatedly advertised on the menu and I was really looking forward to it. What came was a soggy and mushy pile of shredded potato - special indeed, for all the wrong reasons. The English muffin that was supposedly toasted was also soggy and bland. Meh. Just didn’t really enjoyed our meal there.

Ordered their top shell and salad both tasted really very average. Or rather, top shell didnt marinate into the basic like tanginess, sour and spice to whet the appetite. Salad tasted like a chunk of cabbage with topping added separately. Still a good place for Happy Hour beer drinking and a good Place for chit Chat and catch up

It's been a while since I've been here. The burger is always a crowd pleaser. The beer is always fresh and nicely chilled. The calamari rings are nicely fried but I feel it could be better if the calamari was preseasoned to get the flavours thru instead of just the batter. Always good for a meal anytime of the day and close by to home. A must to visit when you are craving for that pint! Will be back again for more!
